And he couldn't be a lafs fan?

btw if anyone is jealous, its the toronto media wondering just how their beloved loosers can never get to a cup final, yet for two season in a row a team from alberta got there.

cram it where the sun doesn't shine.

Are you saying that it would take more than a 5th?

What is with all the haters. I grew up with the guys brother. I noticed that Toronto has yet to call him up.. he has great offensive skill and would like him on the oilers.

MerfDawg is a 20 plus goal scorer in the NHL.. I have no clue why he hasn't got the call up yet. He has great hands and has good grit... exactly what Toronto fans want.

What would it take to get him over to the oilers? How do you rank him amoung your other prospects?

The Oilers don't have their own farm team. So other teams' minor leaguers probably aren't of much interest.

Wow I just noticed that he wasnt even mention in the "other notables" section in the leafs prospects section.. He scored a point a game for mich. in the ncaa and was hoby baker finalist i think twice. I asume now he is no longer in the leafs/marlies organization.

One player wanted out. I suppose that means no one wants to be here.

Toronto must suck as a city. Brian Leetch, Ed Belfour, Glen Wesley, Tie Dummy, Gary Roberts, Joe Nieuwendyk, Owen Nolan all left in recent times.

Eric Lindros and Jason Allison may still leave.

Whats wrong with Toronto, why is everyone leaving?

Really reaching there aren't you. It's pretty sad when fans have to resort to complaining about other teams to make them forget their own team.

Taking credit for Calgary's run in 2004 is funny. One and dones aren't very impressive in my mind. I almost didn't respond to this baiting post, and yet I did. Do I get a medal for almost holding myself?

Whats the difference in a UFA leaving Edmonton and Toronto? Pretty sad that you didn't get the point of that post actually.

heh all those players you mentioned in your first part were over 35, all wanted to stay with the exception of leetch and possibly nolan, all made it public they wanted to stay.

lindros and allison have expressed interest in staying, especially lindros

even though, I am glad we lost those players, and not a franchise, top 3 in the nhl dman, hart, norris winner in chris pronger.... I think losing pronger hurts a little more, I think just a little

Don't worry about it. I know you're very concerned an all, but no reason to be.

Now get one thing, Oilers let Dvorak go, they let Laraque walk, they sure as hell let Conklin go.

Spacek was down to two teams, Buffalo and Edmonton. He wanted to go back east where there is less travel. thats fine.

Peca was a rental player and that was a known fact. No way in hell was Edmonton going to pay him 4M/year again.

Pronger wanted to leave due to a off-ice issue, and not due to him or his wife hating the city. AS much as you and the rest of easterners are hoping that he hated the city, he didn't.

Roloson resigned, Pisani resigned, Tjarnqvist signed. Two resigned UFA's, 1 lost UFA, 4 players let go who the team didn't need. 1 signed UFA. Samsonov is a possibility to still sign.

I'd say thats about an average begining to a off-season.

Off course, you bveing a fan of a team who hasn't won a damn thing in 3 generations and I can understand why you act the way you do.

you can believe what you want to believe, but just remember 1 thing, as of right now you guys are worse, as of right now, the leafs are better.

secondly, we havent won, thats true, forget the fact the leafs were owned by a dictator, whats even sadder is the fact the oilers almost left edmonton, traded the greatest player ever, dismanteled a dynasty, are dirt poor and quite honestly, rely on successful teams like the leafs for revenues.

so before you go hating the leafs I suggest you admire them cause if every team in the NHL were like the leafs we wouldnt have problems.
