Ahem. I live in Canada too, and thanks to the CBC, I assure you I've seen more of the Leafs than anyone could ever need. That aside, my post was about your scouting report on the Pens players in question, which was just plain wrong.

I've had my reservations about Malone and Ouellet, but to say both have reached their ceilings at ages 23 and 26 (with 1 and 2 years experience, respectively) is pretty presumptuous. There's really no reason to assume they both won't do better next season, particularly if they're teamed with Malkin or Crosby. Add to this the fact that the Pens have no need for any of the players offered from the Leafs side and you've got yourself a non-starter, friend.

may being the key word. I believe he is a 20 20 player and that is his ceiling.

...because he's played two years in the NHL and most players plateau after that point?

He would score alot more if he was more consistent. Stop watching them hot chicks Malone and focus on the game! you can watch them only if you can do it while playing consistent.

They won't think it's lopsided in the leafs favor until it involves malkin.

It's really just one guy, when fans of one team say that a trade package overwhelmingly favors them, it probably does.

oh and btw all I am a Leafs fan , Trottier is my favorite player. It is good to know so many qualified gms out there love my trade proposal *L* , there have been worse trades made in the NHL every year than that proposal .

We all ahd you confused with the original Trottier (we shud have been a little more dilegent). Go over to the Leaf board and sign up.
btw. I think it was definately a good trade for the leafs and it was certainly worth talking about, the problem was I think the entire hockey world (including most leaf fans) do not see any enormous future for Antropov, which i do.

FTR.........Look up some of the other power forwards in the NHL who have been pretty dominant recently........aka Guerin, Bertuzzi.........comapre their 24 and 26 year old seasons with Malone........tell me they didnt improve as power forwards after that.

the fact you think hes hit his ceiling already at 26 shows your knowledge of him already. The entire thread is a joke as the proposal was laughable at best.

I wouldn't want him for the Pen's worst player, I think he is that bad.

And maybe you should get your facts straight before calling out other posters. Malone is 26, not 29.
Antropov is hardly a bust, only 3 people drafted before him have more points than him, and that includes Mark Bell who some people seem to worship on this board who's only played 19 more games than the 'injury prone' Antropov.

In fact, his draft year only 6 players total in the 1st 2 rounds have more points than him. and only 12 in the entire draft year. That is pretty darn good actually.

That still does nothing to improve his trade value for the Pens. They don't need another young centerman, and they really don't need to trade away their 2nd line wingman and another potential 2nd line winger for a centerman and another backup goaltender.

100% true, but, i was just tired of seeing him called a bust all the time.
Although, Antropov has been playing the wing more than center lately.

...any idea why Malone was in the doghouse? ...I heard it almost came to the point where he was going to be waived last year??

He was benched for 2-3 games because Coach Therrien wanted to motivate him, knew he was capable of more, and it worked, he returned to his normal self.

Antropov is garbage, it was a brutal draft year and hes part of what made it brutal.

He has played in the league for 6 seasons, and his highest goal total is 16..his highest point total is 45..which he followed up with back to back 31 point seasons.

He skates like a big goofy spazz...he is awkward as hell.

He is also injury prone

He has blown out both knees and had reconstructive surgery, which is bad for any player, let alone a guy who is 6'6.

He is a bust, and is at best a career third liner. With his bad knees and lack of talent, I see him out of the league within 3-4 years.

Malone has already has 2 20+ goal seasons, in only 2 years.

No one in their right mind, except a Leaf fan in denial, would want Antroslop over Malone.

Wish you would learn to tell us what you really feel !!
ps. I wud not make the trade for Malone, not knocking him I just think Antropov has more up-side, but that is my view and i have been wrong before.

An absurd deal only a mad cow infected beef eating 68 hours with no sleep just finished a headbutting competition with Zidane spent 32 years in a vegetative state Leafs fan could possibly think is even remotely close to being in the same ballpark as "fair value".

Then wouldn't the inverse be true as well? No non Pens fans can objectively discuss a Pens player. Meaning your opinions are null and void.

Of course that's not how it works or this board would be pointless. But hey, what do I know? I was under the impression Malone was only 26. Silly me.
