The 5 players we are rumoured to be getting

Gathering all of the information, what player would you want to play for us. I have heard:

Jagr for Koivu and Briesbois
Comrie for Higgins/Ribeiro/Plekanec and more
Primeau for Rivet
Carter for I don't know
Parrish for I don't know

Now my question is to you, what player would you want the most? NOT WHAT DEAL...But what PLAYER including all his attributes would you want. Not the deal.

He is simply someone you can build a team around. He is a star, and that is for sure. I too wouldn't consider him a franchise player now, but more or less a franchise player to be!

Anson Carter.

Isn't too expensive and is just what Saku needs on his wing. Then if we could just add a real sniper to the left side, that's it.

We aren't that short of centers actually. Or right now we perhaps are, but I'd personally like to see what Higgins, for example can do.

<edit> And what about Hossa? He's not doing it on the wing, why not finally trying him where he belongs at? </edit

Carter would be a great addition.

I've always dreamed of becoming a team like Edmonton, and Carter would certainly help that!

He's on smallish side and isn't dominanat, if you consider him franchise player then Koivu would be God, Comrie can't change the tempo of the game like Kovalchuck and thats the difference between Franchise player and good player, Franchise player in my book get over 40 goals constantly and over powering to opposition, Comrie can score no doubt about it but he can't dominate game like super stars, he's very good first liner and I don't think being first liner qualifies him as star player.

Carter would be a great addition to the wing. I'd love the opportunity to get him.

Either Comrie or Primeau. The knock on Keith Primeau is his contract. His offensive input is not as high as it used to be, and yet he still earns quite a big salary. His leadership, his strenght and his experience could be very useful, though. As for Comrie, just a personnal preference. I have always been high on him, as I think he's one of the most spectacular guys in the league. Getting him for the right price would be good news, as far as I'm concerned.

Carter. I'd take Primeau had it not been for his contract.

Primeau : he would cost us less than the others + he's soon UFA(I think) .. and rivet overpaid (for 3 years)!

Parrish.
  • He's 26-years-old.
  • He is strong and aggressive, at 200 pounds. He plays with an edge, and would be the perfect fit on right wing with Koivu and Zednik.
  • His game is not complete, from what I gather he is not always the best defensive player. Although, he is a fiesty goal scorer, not a defensive specialist.
  • Because Parrish has a couple of holes in his game, he would be easier to obtain than the others
  • With Parrish on the Habs, he would bring to us a legitimate first line, and three legitimate top-six forwards.
  • The cost would probably be a prospect, such as Perezhogin, if we were to cover the whole of Parrish's salary.

I really like primeau because of his zises he can bring to the habs, but hes been injured lately and could be a risk. On the other hand carter is intering his prime and could be a valuable player for the habs. I can see him in a line with koivu and zednik. He would be the missing piece on that line. My pick is Carter.

Not overly eager to get any of them if it cost a top prospect or two. I wouldn't even give up Rivet because Quintal is near the end of the line and Komisarek and Hainsey aren't NHL ready. I'd consider trading Ribeiro, but not for Jagr's contract. He'd also be a malcontent.

I don't like the idea of Jagr. He's a great player, but moving him to the situation in Montreal is not at all what he needs to resurrect his career. Jagr needs to be in a new city, obviously, and more importantly if he gets another taste of winning then he'll play like the Jagr of old IMO.

Why trade for Primeau? He's just going to walk at the end of the season and we're not priming for a Cup this year, so take him out of the picture.

Comrie would cost WAY too much and then we'd have too many small centers.

Anson Carter would be good. He could be great if Zednik moves to LW and Koivu in the middle. Would be a good line. So Carter would be my choice.

If you were looking for someone inexpensive, Parrish would be the way to go. But if you wanted to really kickstart the offense, then Jagar would be the way to go. In washington he scored only 70 + points a year without even trying, and the only other 70 point getter we have is Koivu, so aside from Jagars off ice circus he would really add a dimension to our team.

Primeau, you can never have enough playoff clutch performers. Not to mention he brings size up the middle.

I voted for Parrish, he`s young relatively cheap, has decent size, and probably wouldn`t cost too much for us too aquire. I think with his age he`d fit into the core of our team better than the others. Comrie would be good aswell but he`s just another small forward that the habs already have too many of.

Carter

We have Zednik with Koivu but know no one for Ribeiro on the Right side.
Ribeiro said yesterday on local paper that he prefer a wing (on a RW) who shoots right and it gives more opportunity to him (Ribs is a left shooter).

He's 29, 6-1, 200 lbs....not a bad thing to a second lines with Ribeiro and Hossa.

The bad part....what it will cost...Hainsey maybe !
