Report: Rangers intrested in Brashear

BRASHEAR?: I can't read French, 'cept maybe Dijon, croissant and such things, buuut it looks like there was an article in yesterday's Cyberpresse about him and more specifically about him and the Rangers....http://www.cyberpresse.ca/article/20...PSPORTS01....I used Altavista's Babel Fish Translation thingy...http://babelfish.altavista.com/....and if the translation is right, it seems he and Sather have had some discussions, with Brashear saying "...they seem interested..." and that he's waiting to hear from Sather....anyhoo, who knows how the translation works out, but thought you Brashearians out there would like to check it out...:-)

I guess Sathers trend continues. One good move, then right after a bad one This guy aint a team player and is like Dale Purinton but at the forward position. Id rather resign Strudwick and play Orr.

Y'know, if the Rangers signed everyone they are reported to be interested in by likes of Brooks, Garrioch, and the other rumour-mongers of so-called hockey journalism, they'd have enough players to fill 3 NHL rosters. Just sayin'.

Donald Brashear: Coming soon to an LNAH team near you.

my most disliked player in the league. I hope nobody picks him up.
would by a dumb move by the rangers to get a fighter who thinks he's too good of a player to fight anymore. plus I think he's a jerk.

Agreed bmoak...

although I do not doubt that the Rangers have been interested in all these players - they too know they cannot sign each and every one and they too know they are not the only ones in competition for these guys.

I'd rather have Orr. He's younger, and I'm interested to see what type of player he becomes.

Becausse he had two good games against the Rangers, maybe they believe he's actually a good player.

.

I like it.

an upgrade in the forechecking department, a nice compliment to Orr.

Gte the 4th line of

Brashear - Hollweg - Orr

that would be sweet

Oh my God! Can you imagine what a team with speed and puck movement would do to that line?

I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry.

That's actually unfair. Brashear will still fight and he still fights VERY well. (Look what he did to Orr last year. Reminder: http://www.brickfist.com/1.Hockey_Fi..._Brashear.html)

The problem is that the guy is slow, ineffective defensively, and is prone to look for fights at the wrong times. (Look what Kaspar did to Brashear last year.)

I do read French and in the article Brashear, who is his own agent, says he contacted both the Habs and the Rangers. The Habs lack an enforcer, going with Downey and Murray, the guy they got for Hossa, both middleweights. They said no thanks.

Brashear says he reminded Sather that unlike McGrattan and Laraque he's not just a six or seven minute guy. Before Keith Primeau got hurt, he played with him and Kapanen on full rotation. He also says he's not asking for the moon, which was his $1.7 mil salary last year. "I'm not an idiot."

He's 34. That's where it stands.

JOrts, do you normally copy posts from other boards verbatim? Post links, don't mindlessly copy.

Or in another words he thinks he should be playing 15 minutes a night--one of his dissatisfactions from last year along with his hatred for the new faster and skilled sissified type of game. I'd say no also. He's a dinosaur with a dinosaur's brain.
