The Sharks acquired Bell in exchange for Tom Priessing and Josh Hennessy, who are expected to be part of a package Chicago will use to acquire Havlat.

Unless Martin Havlat had a change of heart and is/was willing to forego group III FA next summer,Havlat will have a short stay in Chicago. His agent Allan Walsh has been pretty vocal about his client going free agent next summer

Muckler is laughing.

I don't think it even matters what he gets for Havlat, he just wanted to send him to Chicago.

Losing Preissing doesn't hurt the Sharks very much. They have Carle ready to take his spot, and Murray will be #6. I like it, I'm glad we got Bell over 1 year of Havlat.

Havlat wants to get paid....if Chicago wants to make him their Gaborik, he'll stay.

What does Chicago want with 1 year of Havlat? Its not like they are a contending team.

maybe sign him to a big deal that ottawa can't offer? if luongo and gaborik can sign long term, i think havlat will come to terms as well.

'Along with Priessing and Hennessy, the Blackhawks sent prospect Michal Barinka and a 2008 second round draft pick to Ottawa in exchange for Havlat and Smolinski."

Wow, that came out of left field. I like the addition of Bell, but the Sharks D is now shakier. Ottawa(if the rest is true), you're getting a great player in Priessing

I bet Havlat's agent will speak with Chicago before they pull the trigger on the trade.

You guys act like agents and GM's dont talk.

My only concern would be the Sharks are looking awfully young on the blueline. Plenty of talent and potential no doubt, but after you get past Hannan and McLaren as your mainstays, there's isn't much in the way of NHL experience. Ehrhoff, Gorges, Carle and Murray have a combined total of 200 games of NHL experience. Does Davison still have a regular spot next year and could Fahey still be in the picture at all?
