if we put kloucek on waivers, i'll scream. brookbank has been great in his role for us...but with mckenzie, do we really need him? i also think that brookbank stands much more of a chance of clearing waivers than kloucek does.

Tough decissions indead. I sure would hate to loose brookbank or Kloucek, but I'm opposite of nmk, I'd almost rather loose Kloucek, as Brookbank just has that nastyness that we've lacked, besides big Mac isn't getting any younger. When Schnabel returns I believe Allison will be gone so here's my top seven when everyone is healthy. I think Schnabel gives us our best physical defenseman out of the 4 plus he has the sized advantage, you just can't teach someone to be 6'6" 232 lbs.

Kimmo - York
Eaton - Hammer
Zidlicky - Schnabel
Brookbank

I think Allison is absolutely brutal.

I also think he is the player most likely to pass thru waivers.

If we lose Kloucek over Allison I will seriously question Poile's sanity.

Allison can be sent down, and I wont lose any sleep. I definitely would not try and put Kloucek on waivers....thats insane. I still think he will work out for us.

i think all this "trade york" talk is a little hasty. he's off to a rough start, but it's not like the guy sucks. i think he'll find his game, and we'd be silly to trade him based on a bad first few games.

I wouldn't care if York was gone. He's been terrible.

legwand, erat, orszagh, walker, johnson, hartnell....have all been "terrible" at times, in the past couple of years. i guess we should have traded them, too.

If there was anybody better behind those guys, yes! But there's not. But I'll take the guys behind York. Just MHO.

I wouldn't mind freeing up York's salary for maybe some offense.

Let me give credit where it is due.
In what I saw of the third period York was playing near the level he played last year. If we can get that York back, I would much rather he nurture our younger D guys than Allison. Allison tries to clear the crease but can't approach Schnabel in that dept.

Kloucek has not lived to billing yet this season, but has not had much chance to get in rhythm, either.

I would MUCH rather risk losing Allison than any of our young D men. Brookbank seems to be learning to play competent D. The Sens thought enough of him they regretted having to expose him and hoped he would slip thru undetected.

And I'll also say I doubt any salary freed by moving York would be invested in a high consistent points guy we really need to push us over the top.

I want them to shake things up somehow to make the guys play at that Detroit 3rd period level consistently. But not do something stupid or short-sighted.

Could a guy like Weimer provide that?

Quite true...

and y'all keep in mind that York passed thru waivers last season before the Preds traded for him. So it would hard pressed to find a team that would want his services at his salary that has, I would think.

If York is traded, I think it'll be more like a York for Pick or minor league prospect, future considersations type of deal at the trade deadline.

Well so far on the Trade Rumors Board I think I can get us either Yanic Perreault from the Habs or Jason Wiemer from the Isles for Kloucek
What about boys????

uh..why do we need another scott walker\rem murray?

that's all jason wiemer is. do we really need yet ANOTHER grinder? wiemer is the first to go, parrish is the second. i'd much rather wait for parrish.

I would definitely take another Scott Walker type player, especially if they were planning to just send Klooch to the waiver wire, which seeing how some decisions have gone is not out of the question. I not saying give up on Kloucek yet but I'm trying to see what we could get. IMO Parrish would cost us more than just Kloucek.

i just don't think that wiemer would really address any needs, i wasn't really knocking scott walker. how about we give them kloucek(something i feel we're going to regret, in the long run) and toss in arkhipov for parrish?

York I can see moving due to his salary and the CBA upcoming. Brookbank I can see moving just for the reason that we already have a heavyweight, but I can see with the proper training he can be a decent Dman. Allison is the most likely choice, but I don't see anyone getting him in waivers. As for Kloucek, I don't see him moving, yet...

Are any of Nashville's d-men on two-way contracts? I would assume Brookbank is - so is probably the most likely to be sent down or traded.
