Daily Herald Article about Dollar Bill Wirtz...

Interesting article, Dollar Bill Wirtz says not making the playoffs 6 times in the last seven years is unexceptable! What's really buggin Dollar Bill is the fact the the Blackhawks lost $19 million dollars last year and are expected to lose $20 million more this year. That old saying "what comes around goes around" rings true! Mr. Wirtz has dug a hole he can not get out of, and I for one hope that this is the beginning to the end for the Wirtz Family Reign over our beloved Blackhawks..

It just goes to show you that Mr. Wirtz cares when it comes to money, than hockey...

If you believe that the Wirtz family lost money on the Blackhawks, I've got some magic beans to sell you.

Disgruntled....

I think the article was implying that the Hawks lost potential income from poor attendence, advertising, and other stuff. Sure, the Hawks made money, just not as much as Dollar Bill had hoped for...

Wirtz has claimed that he's been losing money by owning the Blackhawks for the past eight years AT LEAST. The man is so full of ****, it comes out his ears.

An bit off-topic..... Do the Hawks ever plan to have a tv contract in place for local tv?

I like this quote:

“For the last five or six years, I didn’t miss the playoffs, and I’m not planning to next year,” Havlat said. “I’m coming here to help the team win games.

The only thing I am amazed about is that Wirtz can't believe that the Hawks missed the playoffs 6 of 7 years. He basiclly put s**t on a stick on the ice and expects people to show up? I mean what was the Hawks average payroll those years?

Its obviously Wirtz's own fault that his team missed the playoffs 6 of the past 7 years

FYI guys, the Hawks have been a top 10 spender in salary for a decade.

It's how the Hawks choose to spend their money that costs them so dearly.

They overspend money on a ton of useless vets see:
Karpovtsev 3mil
Fleury 4mil
Lapointe 2.4mil
Korolev 2mil
Cullimore 1.9mil

and to a lesser extent
Khabibulin 6.75mil

But then they dont pay their own proven fan favorite players when its time to give them the raises they deserve, see:
JR
Belfour
Chelios
Amonte
Sullivan
Calder

With a little bit of loyalty and hockey know-how, Wirtz easily has spent enough money to have this team make the playoffs the last 30 years in a row. But his own ego along with the hiring of incompetant management and coaching staff has driven this team into the ground and held it there for years.

To be perfectly honest, Wirtz isnt cheap at all, just a complete dumbass.

I'll disagree and say that he's both.
