I was just wondering what will the habs do with him, because he might not clear waivers...?
Aebischer will get traded:
A) If Huet continues his strong play well into this season.
B) If the Habs get an offer they can't refuse.
C) His value come trade time will largely be determined by how well he's played until that point.
He won't get traded:
A) If Huet absolutely bombs.
Other than that, I think Aebischer will be around for half the year. I don't think he'll get traded until other teams get a look at their goaltending situation - and see how well Aebischer plays this year. Is he a true #1?
That being said, I hope BG gets an offer he can't refuse for Aebischer (closer to the start of the year) so that Danis can get the time he deserves, and we can finally shake up this roster a bit.
I wouldn't trade Danis I think he'd be an excellent back-up with potential of becomming a starter. I'd really like to see Abby and Huet battle it out then trade the one who doesn't win the starting job and hand over the back-up job to Danis.
I highley dought he would clear waivers, there are about 10 teams with only one decent goaltender and not much after that who would jump at him.
Just out of curiosity... what 10 teams are those?
And incidentally, if any of our development campers happens to read in this thread... can somebody PLEASE ask TT or whoever for a final official confirmation of Danis' waiver status, so we don't have to operate on maybes or pretty-sures on this particular topic?
