how come red wings fans are interested in wiemer?

i mean where would he fit in? he obviously wont replace a grind line member and your 4th on paper appears to be a combination of either thomas/holmstrom/williams/devereaux/ hudler right?

so how would wiemer fit in on a deep wings forward crop even with the injury of zetterberg?

Ahead of Deveraux who is useless. I would play him ahead of Jason Williams also.

Because Wiemer is better than Devereaux and Williams. Hudler NEEDS to go to the minors. If Lewis isn't gonna use him, mine as well let the kid play in the minors. Plus i dont know if you noticed, but the Wings are a small team. Plus a team with few tough players. So he would be sometime to the table that is lacking.

I would like to see him center a line with Holmstrom and Thomas....
-Grind line
-Shanny/Yzerman/Devereux or Williams(for now)
-Whitney/Datsyuk/Hull
-Thomas/Weimer/Holmstrom
Lines will obviously change when Zetts returns and Boyd and Williams will become spare parts, oh and the sooner we get Hudler to GR the better.

Weimer is now officially on waivers, Link.

Boyd Devereux....He makes the same $ as Wiemer, but I doubt anyone would claim Boyd.

Edit:actually Weimer makes $22,500 more, so about the same.

Many reasons why we want him. He is the type of player that we need and I would rather him play over Devereaux, Williams and Hudler. Devereaux and Williams because he would help us out much more and Hudler because he needs to be in the AHL. I mean come on! He had a minute and a half of ice time last night! Jamie Rivers had more time then that!

He's on waivers? Wings should look at him. I think Wiemer is kind of like McCarty. A 3rd line grinder who can fight, play physical and chip in with 20-30 points a year. IMO, he'd be a nice addition to Detroit.

I doubt Detroit gets a chance to take him though. The guy only makes around 1.6 million a year. That's that high. Devereaux would probably be exposed....hoping Woolley though.

Can't the Wings just send Hudler to GR and not have to expose anyone to waivers?

I would think they would expose Devereaux. It's very doubtful someone would take him and his contract. And if they did, it woul be a bonus for the Wings.
