A Couple of More Moves I would like to see

I hate the fact that Souray wants to leave, but actually LA may be a pretty good trading partner.

Players that I like from LA

Gleason
Frolov

Players that they could use

Souray
Abei

I think that sounds like a pretty fair trade.

I would love Nordstrom, but that would proabably cost us Ryder and a pick.

Sign Danny Markov

Frolov ---Koivu ---Ryder
Samsanov--Higgins---Kovalev
(Higgins was a center at Yale and gives defensive presensce to that line and has the speed to match his wingers)
Frolov---Plekanec----Perezhogin
Begin--Bonk---Johnson
(This line can also score---Murray can be added for grit)

Ribero on his way out anyway

Defense

A. Markov Komi
Rivet Gleason (can learn from the veteran)
Dandy D.Markov

Boullion

Streit for trade bait.

Kots Grabs in the AHL for one year of experience.... Kots the first called up if an injury to any of our top 9 forwards.

2 guys about to hit the UFA market for 2 young guns ? Maybe if the Habs add a 1st pick and something else.

Three things:

1. Los Angeles don't need Aebischer; they already have three goalies: Cloutier, Garon and Labarbera.

2. Personally, if I was GM in LA, I'd never trade Frolov in a package where the main thing coming back is Souray.

3. Danny Markov would be a bad signing. He's a decent player, but he has injury and personal problems. Anyway, I don't know if there currently are some on our team, but I don't think a heavy-smoker like him is good in sports nowadays where conditionning is so important.

Get rid of Ribeiro and Melynk on 990. I'll say it was a successful offseason in Montreal. I'd give up Ribeiro for a 1991 bag of burnt regular Yum Yum chips.... Do it Gainey Do it

Well Souray would probably re-sign he wants to be there.

Abei gets the #1 job..Garon and Lebarbera are not going to beat him out.

Give LA permission to negociate contracts with the two before the trade is made.

These are 2 ESTABLISHED nhlers.

They are getting a top 4 dman and a #1 goalie... so I don't agree we need to throw anything in.

These are the kind of idiotic posts that kill threads... if you don't agree that fine. Either propose something else or tell me why this is not a good trade with some logic.

These one line replies add absoutely no value.

If you were to poll LA fans if they would have any interest in both Mtl. players for either young player you mentiuon, esp. Frolov, I'd estimate that 99% would say no. A young productive big bodied forward signed long term at a low rate, c'mon, add a 1st and they probably wouldn't do it.

IF we needed to throw in a pick... the 3rd rounder from Washington should do it.

LA does have some nice forward prospects.

Yikes! We should get rid of this before a Kings fan sees it.

That may be putting it harshly, but I have to agree with the sentiment. Honestly, this is *almost* (ok, not quite, but *almost* almost) as bad as the proposal that was posted to make fun of being Bonk and Souray for Phaneuf.

Los Angeles HAS NO NEED FOR AEBISCHER. They JUST TRADED FOR CLOUTIER a couple weeks back. Plus they have TWO other NHL goalies in Garon and Labarbera.

Souray may be of interest to them, sure. He's a good top 4 d-man. Gleason is a TOP DEFENSIVE PROSPECT. Top 2 potential. You even suggest slotting him into our Top 4 right away!

Frolov is a TOP YOUNG OFFENSIVE TALENT. Speedy, pretty cheap still, great young player.

This is like LA coming in here and saying, "We'll give you Garon and Sopel for Perezhogin and Fischer." How do you feel about that one?!

Frolov is a dynamic young player already established in the NHL. Gleason is an up and coming young d-man. The Kings have 3 goalies. Why does LA make this deal?

No offence, but Aebi and Souray probably doesn't even get Frolov alone.

You know...I'm seriously beginning to wonder if people watch hockey outside of Montreal. All we see on this board and the trade rumor/proposal board are terrible offers that are completely lopsided in Montreal's favor.

If I was LA I wouldn't even trade Frolov alone for Souray+Aebi. Frolov is one of the best young players in the league, has size, is signed to a long fairly cheap contract while Souray and Aebi both are one year away from being UFA. Not to mention you decide to throw Gleason in there. Please tell me, how does this trade help LA. It's quite obvious how it helps us but don't forget it takes two to tango.
