Change McAmmond to something more worthwhile. Philly is essentially giving up Gagne, Richards, and Handzus for Iginla. McAmmond is not very valuable right now, and is hurt. Maybe Gauthier or Regher.

Yes Philly is stacked at D, Therin passed through waivers earlier. Conroy could even it out, especially b/c he has known chemistry with Iginla.

I dont know if this is overpaying or fair, I was just making a general observation. HOwever, not to bad of a proposal, with Conroy added.

Don't know, maybe some cash....or picks.

Philly is given up the most in this deal, but I'm assuming they would need to, to pick up Iginla.

Flyers are playing very well right now, no need to make a major deal.

Also Flyers are giving up far too much.

Handzus
Seidenberg
Therien
Gagne
Richards

In return they get Conroy, 30 year old UFA to be & Iginla.

Flyers would then have Conroy & Primeau, both UFA centers. no dice as a Flyers fan.

Hmm how far off would this be?

to Edm: Gagne
to Cal: Comrie, Woywitka, Rita/Chimera
to Phil: Iginla

Calgary would obviously be reluctant to move their franchise player but they get back a goalscorer in Comrie and two blue chip prospects.. likewise, Rita/Chimera could likely crack their lineup as well and be good two-way players. Clarke obviously wouldn't be eager to move Gagne but he'd get back Iginla (someone he obviously has coveted) and only gives up Gagne and Woywitka.. any thoughts?

We give up Gagne and Woywitka for Iginla? I'd do it.

How 'bout giving Woywitka to Edmonton, dropping Rita, and moving Gagne to Calgary? Perhaps a high pick to Edmonton as well, in the upper second round.

I'd do it then. We don't really need Jeff, although getting him and Phaneuf together would be pretty sweet. (No Phaneuf for you, though! )

Agreed, not even close. And to top it off we probably would be adding salary.

So are you saying Gagne and Comrie for Iginla? If so, no way will Iginla get that in return. Iginla is good, but not good enough to fetch two young forwards who have both already scored 30 goals.

Likewise, the Oilers won't trade Comrie for Woywitka and a pick.. they need someone who can step in right now and make an impact. The only problem I see with my proposed deal is that Calgary would likely want more than Comrie, Woywitka and Rita for Iginla.. I personally don't think the value is that far off however.

I think Iginla is worth both of those players, salary aside, quite easily.

I agree that he is possibly worth both Comrie and Gagne.. not "easily" however. Both Gagne and Comrie are 30 goal scorers and Iginla has not done much to prove his one season was more of a fluke than a standard. If I was the GM of a team with both Gagne and Comrie on the roster, I personally wouldn't trade them both away for Iginla...

Iginla makes too much money. Flyers cant afford Gagne+Woywitka for Iginla even if we are able to dump Therien's salary.
