Where's the offense coming from?

Once again, this team has shown a surprising ability to generate offense, especially given its ineptitude on the PP and missing essentially its top two offensive centers from last year (Marchant and Comrie)...and it's all about balance:

14-5-5-10 Smyth
13-3-7-10 Hemsky
14-6-3-9 Torres
13-3-6-9 York
14-4-4-8 Moreau
14-3-5-8 Pisani
14-2-6-8 Staios
13-2-6-8 Reasoner

5 of these 8 guys you could definitely label under 'unexpected production'. The RPM line has been HUGE in making up for the less than expected offense from Isbister, Dvorak, and to a lesser extent Horcoff.

Now if we could only stop with the Chinese fire drill in our own zone and that one bad goal per game by whomever's in net, and we could be onto something.

well, they were preaching that "scoring by committee" approach since a few years back. We may not have a bonafide 1st line, but we have a couple of decent 2nd lines. How we keep scoring these goals is puzzling for me too.

He sure talks to the forwards alot about their play when they come off, noticably more than Moores used to. He's also very excited and positive about the way he does it from what I can see. You'd think this kinda thing would continue on a higher level in practice, they've mentioned how he's emphasized finishing off chances in practice even. Good things from my POV.
