Spezza is the most intellectually challenged player in the league.

He may be a wizard on the ice, but wow, this guy could have been be a poster-boy for stay-in-school ads.

Everytime I hear him do an interview, I cringe in embarrasment for Spezza and his family. He just doesn't seem to be able to grasp either the question, or the finesse to handle his mother tongue.

Anyway, Spezza is my vote.

i'll go with spezza too.

avery isn't that dumb IMO. I'd even say that he's smart enough to handle controversy as he whishes only because he likes when people talk of him. Just like eminem (also known as mr controversy) and marilyn manson do to sell albums.

I always thought that Bertuzzi was retarded, he has that down syndrome type of look. Then I heard when he was young he drove a snowmobile into the side of a barn. We also know about his Moore debacle. Biggest goofball on 2 skates.

The topic of this thread and this comment reeks of irony.

Spezza sounds like a total idiot, but he is actually quite intelligent. He just acts like goof ball. I've met the guy, he isn't stupid. He didn't go to university but very few OHL players of his potential do. He isn't a genius but I'm sure there are people dumber out there.

My vote goes to Avery, he just seems like one of those punks who wouldn't know if he was being insulted.

The then trainer (somewhere around 2000) for the Louisville Panthers said that the Florida Panthers Mensa challenge was between John Jakopin and Ed Jovanovski. He said they were most definitely the dumbest people he had ever come in contact with in his life.

I pick Billy Tibbetts. He also has the shortest temper.

Hard to decide between McCabe and Chelios, both of whom demonstrated no intelligence at all during lockouts. McCabe then followed it up by demonstrating none on the ice as well; Chelios can blame his issues on age at least.

Ryan Smyth's googly tard-eyes make him come across as dumber than he actually is, methinks.

"Special Ed" Jovanovski is reputed to be one of the dullest knives in the drawer.

Eddie Shack was often kidded mercilessly by opponents for being illiterate (not the same thing as dumb). The Red Wings bench was really giving it to him one game. He was being razzed saying Shack couldn't spell goal let alone score one. He grabbed the puck, went end to end and put the biscuit in the basket.

He skated over to the Wings bench and yelled "GOAL" and then spelled it S-C-O-R-E.
