The Official Rob Niedermayer Appreciation Thread

Go Rob! I hope you embarrass all those who claim Scott is better next year.

Did you hear Neil Smith say that Robbie had no talent??!??!?!?!?!

There's nothing to think about, Scott is better. Scott may be a HHOF-er (not saying for sure, may be) and Rob was a good AVERAGE player, good but not great or special.

rob's a player that seems to make a good team a contender. he's been a part of two of the best cinderella stories of recent memory (florida in 96 and anaheim in 03).

scott is a possible hall of fame defenseman who played a key part in his team's championships.

given the choice between the brothers, i'd take scott. but rob isn't bad.

Rob is like Meg from Family Guy

In all seriousness though he's a solid 2-way player

Scott Niedermayer will be inducted into the HHOF. He's one of the safest locks to do it left in the NHL. It would be impossible not to happen.

I would say Lidstrom is the safest lock, but I agree Scott should be there too.

You have to be kidding me. The only reason why Rob has a nice contract with the Ducks is because they wanted to sign Scott.

I remember being at a Flames game where Special Nieds assisted on the overtime winner (or "skate-off goal," for those of you just arriving). Beasley, the most hyperactive PA guy in the league, barely mumbled his name... and the crowd still booed.

Perhaps, but he's also really found a key role on the Ducks. He's always been part of their best defensive lines, has been effective when cycling down low as part of one of their big lines, and has molded himself into an excellent role player.

Is this the NHL board or the Ducks? I'm confused.
