I don't know why they weren't willing to pay Lindros half that much.

Lindros is unlikely to play half the games.

Lost all respect for Peca on this one. I don't know about you, but I would never go to a team where a player intentionally hurt me, and almost ended my career. I guess money talks, and BS walks in this case.

Who thinks like that? Tucker and Peca are now on good terms, and have been for awhile.

ah it's tough, they settled their differences already, I don't think Tucker intentionally wanted to kill his knees, if Peca and Tucker can kiss and make up you should be able to let it go too cause these guys are good people.

You sure it isn't BS talks? Because that post certainly makes a strong case for it.

Peca is on record as saying they've talked about what happened and they're okay with it now, and they share some mutual friends. This whole Peca vs. Tucker rivalry is just a wet dream for drama seeking hockey fans.

How does money talk? He just accepted less money to come to Toronto.

Apparently.. Either way... They are on good terms like Garbs said.

OK signing depending on which of Jekyll or Hyde appears. If it's the Peca of the last playoffs, it's a good signing... if it's the Peca of last regular season, a bad signing at that price.

No. I like my avatars and never want to screw around with them.

For the record if you look at my post history on Lindros you will see that I really wanted him back with the Leafs. I constantly stated that his latest wrist injury was a fluke. And I also thought his career would take a turn for the better this coming season.

As for more analyzation on the signing, I don't think the Leafs will be looking for offence from him this season. I think the signing is made for an overall defensive team upgrade.

Less money to play in toronto, where does it say that someone offered more than that?

Various reports over the past two weeks or so.

Like I said, "apparently".

Considering his last season it does seem like a lot but it could be worse, it could be Allison at that price.

I'm hoping he bounces back next season and I'm glad to have him on board the Leafs.

and you know what I wouldn't mind seeing a Tucker-Peca-??? line

That's why I was so willing to make the bet...the wrist injury could have happened to anyone.

That really pissed me off..

Not only did Dallas steal Lindros from us during the season (wrist injury occured vs Dallas), they signed him away from us too.

Looks like JFJ skipped:

Basic Sports Psychology 101
Building Team Chemistry 101

But has completed:
Bringing in old hacks 101,202,303

And finaly his thesis:
"How to keep your hockey team in a perma "Rebuilding Mode" - AKA - Not bad enough for good draft picks, not good enough to win anything

True. So could have his previous shoulder injury(what finnished his final season with the Rangers) or the number of concuscions. Lindros is a gamble, and one worth taking. IF he stays healthy you have one heck of a bargain on your hands.

Peca is more likely to play a full season, but he may not put up nearly as many points as Lindros. Injuries killed us last year with all 3 of our centers missing time with Injury.

I'm a huge Lindros fan, one of my favorites of all time. That being said, if it wasn't one fluke injury, it was another. The amount of time he has missed in his career for injuries other then concussions (which weren't a problem until the Kasparitus hit) is substantial to say the least. He's had problems with the wrists, the knee's, the back, he's had it all. I hope for his sake that he is healthy and dominate, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss 20-30 or more games from injuries un-related to a concussion.

As for the Peca signing, we'll have to take a wait and see. It seems to be a similar approach (though not as risky in the injury department) as they took last season with the signings of Allison, Lindros, and O'Neil. None of them were nearly as productive as JFJ had hoped so we'll have to see what happens with Mike. He's a good checker even if he's not putting the puck in the net and that should help the Leafs a pretty good deal.
