Same line-up as line-up?

What do you all think?

P.S. Can I get a sticky?

Izzy is now on the IR(whiplash), and Semi should get called back up (although he didn't actually go to the Roadrunners).

hopefully it'll be a fast skating, hard hitting, throwback kind of game..

How seriously do you take Thorton's threat to retire?

I don't believe it's that serious...mostly just venting..and rightfully so...

He has been getting mugged like it's open season on him. Not just every game so far...but essentially every shift.
What took the cake was his cousin's , Scott Thornton , high stick on him the other night. Right in front of both Refs.. Bloodied his face and nothing was called.

The game in general is going down hill as far as I'm concerned and Thornton is just the latest guy with talent to speak up.
My concern is that he'll take matters into his own hands and get suspended for it.

The League has got to make the Refs enforce the rules as written. Regardless of player or team that needs to be penalized.

I think you will enjoy tonight's game then... there won't be much clutching and grabbing (maybe the odd tackle in front of the net... but hey...)

Not from the Oilers anyways... Maybe Samsonov can give Hemsky a few pointers on how to shoot the puck after you undress the whole team.

Conklin overhandled the puck a bit last night so look for Boston to pressure him when he's out of the net. He's going to be busy if the Oilers want to play another game of pond hockey.

Also, who is going to contain Thorton on the Oilers?

Moreau? Stoll? I'm not scared are you scared?

I hope we can keep this one close enough to surge for a victory in the final moments.

It's not like the Bruins are 14-0 and outscoring their opponents 5 to 1 every game.

The Oilers have proven that they can skate and play with good teams... but at the same time, they have shown that they can be completely over-whelmed.

Laraque would love the chance to play against Thornton. He loves playing a big Dallas team, I'm sure he'd be at his best against the Bruins. Will he play tonight??
As for the game, probably another backup tonight with Raycroft probably getting the start. I say 4-3 Oilers.

Torres Smyth Moreau Bergeron
Thornton Samsonov Knuble

Conks with 35 saves

5-3 Oilers

Dvorak, Smyth, Brewer, York (2).

Bergeron, Knuble, Thornton

I'm guessing either:

7-4 Oilers with a first period surge

Smyth, Dvorak (2), Moreau, Staios, Brewer, Salmolainen
Thornton, Murray (3)

or

3-1 Bruins against a road-weary Oilers team

Pisani
Thornton, Murray, Rolston

i think you may be underestimating rayzor a little bit. from my standpoint, he's at least potvin's partner, if not the 1 to felix's 1A. he's certainly not the backup, and he's been awesome so far this year. looking forward to seeing him battle it out w/conklin though

I've got a bad feeling about tonight. The Oilers are pretty banged up and playing the 2nd of a B2B on the road ... a recipe for a terrible game methinks.

If they can get out of the 1st period without being too far behind ... they might be okay though. Should be an entertaining game in any case.

Is Conks starting tonight? That would be 2 in a row for him. I'd like to see how Valley fares...

Didn't mean to sound like I was a B's fan Dawg. I'm trying to portray the split personality of our club right now.

I think the Oilers can beat any team on any given night. Escpecially the good ones that under estimate us.

Right now no team is safe with a lead against us and we are not safe with any lead. Its quite nerve racking actually.

Probably not very well... especially after his last 2 starts for the runners... it wasn't pretty.

Let me put it this way... if Valley gets a start in Edmonton... it isn't because it is good news.

Well, I don't know if the B's blueline is up to the task of the Oilers speed. On the other hand I don't know if anyone on the Oilers can stop Thornton, Murray, Knuble.

4-4 OT tie.

I would rather give Conks a chance to get into a groove.

You never know.

4-1 boston

This is a classic let-down game. They just came off a big game come from behind win over a team full of oiler connections. Second game in as many nights, everyone has a hangover.

Here We Go Oilers Here We Go!!!!

Before I'm forced to remember (pessimistic side speaking) I can visualize a 5 to 0 drubbing of the Bruins(so says the optimistic side). Let's get out of Beantown with a 4 to 3 win in overtime is more realistic. This November 11th, let's have a game to really remember!

Just heard on the radio that the lineup stays the same EXCEPT that Semenov comes in for Bergeron. Conklin starts.

I think the 'letdown' theory has some merit, but perhaps this is one that Conklin can steal a period or two for us to give us a chance. Raycroft is supposedly playing extremely well - too bad we won't see Potvin!

I'm hoping for a 3-3 tie...

Bart
