Well, pretty much a junk period for the lineup. Wasn't aware circling around in the neutral zone was a powerplay tactic......

Ty has kept us in however with some huge saves. Time to pick it up guys.

Conklin had a helluva period right there. Difference is a powerplay goal. I don't think the Oildrop have the legs to see this through, but that was a pretty darn good period for them.

The only bad thing about the Bruins is those Golden bear uni's. Bruins black uniforms are just so awesome, it's a real letdown to see Yogi out there.

Well 1-0 after the 1st.

If they keep chipping away they will get one by Raycroft. Then hopefully some great momentum to follow.

I don't really want any pond hockey tonight though. Just slowly claw their way back in for a 2-1 win and I'll be happy.

Those two saves against Glen Murray were great.

Indeed - so far, so good for Conklin. The Oilers did get some sustained pressure a few times, had some good opportunities. We'll see if they gave it all up in the first period, though - you'd expect them to get more tired as the game goes on after having played last night. Go boys!

Conks is definitely the story in the first period. Loads of defensive breakdowns... and our pk looked absolutely brutal out there.

LT, looks like Horc is looking better tonight than he's been previously. The Stoll line with Pisani and Moreau are doing ok... but it's plain to see how much of a difference Reasoner makes on that line.

We're only down by one goal luckily. We can come back.

Come back soon Marty!

Getting decimated in the faceoff circle again. Boy we need Reasoner back. 6 for 21 or 29% is killing us.

Not too early of course. I don't want Reasoner's play to suffer because we brought him back before he was 100%. He's much too important on that third line.

Something that struck me was that if Salo was still OK, the situation might have been that Conklin gets the start in NY, but after giving up 4 goals, MacT likely would have been inclined to go back to Salo for this game.

But Ty looked like he settled in quickly in his 2nd straight game, so there's a (mixed?) blessing that Salo couldn't go for this game at all.

Reasoner was just interviewed before the 2nd period - said that he's getting better every day, but hoped the healing would speed up! And I agree - we do miss him out there.

GOAL! If I keep typing long enough, interesting things happen! Stoll scores for the 2nd straight game... When Reasoner comes back, is it "Good-bye Horcoff"?

Good job - nice to tie it up so quickly in the 2nd.

Oh, Salmo...GOTTA make the play there. Looked like he could have faked the shot and gone in for a deke. Ah well.

According to Snet, Reasoner now has an undisplaced FRACTURED ankle and has been sent home.

That sucks.

Okay, exhibit A: The Anchor comes off the first line, Torres-Smyth-Hemsky go out there, and immediately 4 good chances.

DO NOT play Horcoff on that line already!

And what's with MacT being so paranoid about playing Sarno with those guys? He's had about 2 shifts with them so far and did just fine, but then for some reason MacTavish throws out Horcoff.......what's the deal?!?!

With all due respect folks, Horcoff isn't the problem. the Bruins are toying with our pk, lordy it's like watching the Red Wings out there.

Every indicator point to the Oilers running out of gas and this game ending about 5-2.

Let's see how much gumption these guys have.

3 for 3 on the PP for the B's, 0 for 3 on the PK for the Oilers...not good, but i think we have the guns to get back in the game as long as we don't let it get more out of reach...Ty has to make the next big save though...that will put some wind back in the sails.

edit: sorry i spoke to soon, 3 goals in 4:11

What terrible penalty-killing. Why hasn't MacT changed the system up yet? It's obvious it doesn't work against Boston. This of course never should have happened, with all our PP chances early that we needed to capitalize on and didn't. Ty kept us in but we still didn't do anything, and now we stand at 4-1. Not looking good.

What were Staios and Smith doing on that 4th goal...........geez......

it seems like they feel obligated to try and score on every penalty kill. Does it seem that way to you guys?
