....honestly. just when you think this story couldn't get any weirder... it does!

should we set up a pay-pal account for the families of islander fans that will commit mass suicide upon hearing this news !?

I really hope TSN comes out and says they've had their systems hacked because a monkey could better run this team

I feel bad for the isles.
But in someway I believe this is benificail to the Habs why would Higgins and Komi ever want to play at home for a team like this.

I know Higgins grew up a habs fan but Komi may have dreams to play for the isles!

It's a quite a weird situation.

Since I don't think any of us know Garth Snow personally, would it be that bad to assume that he's qualified for the position? I mean, he did get the job. Maybe he should have worked his way up as an assistant GM, or maybe he's really ready for it?

If ridicule would kill, the Islanders would be at St-Peter's Gates.

How do any of you know this won't work out?

I'll agree it's a huge and perplexing risk, but how do you know he won't be a successful GM?

Is it any more risky than hiring Gretzky as a coach? I think he's a horrible coach, but because of his name, he gets the benefit of the doubt. I seriously wouldn't be surprised to see Snow do well, the guy is recently removed from the NHL, who better to know what's going on in the league than a guy recently retired.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a great idea, especially for a team like the isles who need stability, but, we shouldn't be dooming this before he's even given a chance.
