Which IMO is good news for us. Leaves the door open for Aebi to Detroit(who was looking at Belfour).

He's got experience, he's proven himself in the past and he'll come cheap. It's basically teams looking for a quick fix or an immediate playoff run

Like many have reported, maybe Montreal is really working out a deal with the wings?
I for one would welcome Lang with Montreal....I would prefer Zetterberg or Datsuyk but Detroit would ask alot for one of those two guys.

Ryder - 1st - Abeisher - Sourray - Kositsyn
for

Datsyuk and Jiri Fisher

Would that be a fair deal....or does Detroit slam the phone on me!

LOL

I think Toronto overused him and relyed on him to heavily....He could flourish playing half the games instead of 3/4 of them

The Stanley Cup ring on his finger? If he returns to form/stays healthy (last year could be an anomaly), he could be a huge boost for the Panthers.

For that package we should get Kronwall instead!

I wonder if this "physical" is the same one he took when he was supposedly to sign with the Wings.

he's not getting any younger.. chances of him getting back to form and staying healthy are very slim.

I'm not sure there is any form left. Any given night he stay still record a shutout but night in and night out he will be less then stellar.

I think you're right....sorry about that....The only thing I don't like about Kronwall is his stature...6.0 158lbs, that's small for a defenceman. It's not so much the height but his weight that could be an issue.

Height: 6-0
Weight: 158 lbs.
Age: 25

He's had off years in the past and bounced back nicely. Outside of last year, his numbers during his tenure with the Leafs are impeccable. It all depends on his back and the number of starts that are expected of him.

any way you look at it, he is now 41 years old. I dont think to many goalies at that age can get the job done, no matter how good their career was.

No doubt, it's a gamble. However, at $1.5 million and as insurance on Alex Auld being a capable starter it could end up being a shrewd move by Iron Mike.

When you're old and even the Leafs don't want you, the time to retire has come.

Cause Leafs fans turned him into a joke after one poor injury plagued season. Now they're stuck with scrubs like Aubin and Raycroft. I'd be happy (and wouldn't be surprised) if Belfour did very well this season, possibly stealing the starting job if he's 100%.

Abei rumours will start again....

I for one would not mind a trade Abei and 3rd or 4th draft choice for Lang.... but we might have to give somebody else due to the cap....Lang only have 1 year left... so would have plenty of Cap room if it does not work....

Man some of these trade suggestions are out there.

Let's see, let's send 1/2 the Habs and our future to Detroit for an over-hyped, disappears in the playoffs, overpaid Datsyuk and a guy with a serious heart condition.

Great idea!

When does school start again?
