My bad, brain fart.

How can you possibly put Whitney, Weber and Klesla in front of Seabrook?

Though I don't think he should have won the Calder and I hate the music, this video pretty much shows you know jack about Phaneuf. I feel ashamed for even responding to this, but I wanted to post the video anyway, CUZ HE'S AN ABSOLUTE MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey buddy learn how to spell his name right its MESZAROS! How is this guy getting too much credit btw. He just lead the NHL in +/- pretty much the whole season at the age of 20!! He is much better than J-bo (this guy has no developed at all and is turning into a bust) and will only grow even more with a great staff in Ottawa. He will be a top 2 defenceman very soon and be a scott stevens type- solid, team player, minus the big hits.

Meszaros only led in +/- because the sens scores so many goals and played very little time in their own end

If you don't know anything about a player just admit it, don't go on saying something like that.

I'm sure everyone would right now. That was an incredibly stupid post above...Jaybo a bust? C'mon dude.

Meszaros may very well end up being better but he has a lot more to prove to get to Jaybo's reputation right now.

#1 - Phaneuf
#2 - Pitkanen
#3 - Meszaros
#4 - Hamhius
#5 - Bouwmeester
#6 - Ballard
#7 - Weber
#8 - Tyutin

Round out my list with a couple of prospects that should have good impacts this year: #9 Ryan Suter, and #10 Jack Johnson who I think will have a great rookie year for Carolina, if they give him a chance on the NHL club, which they should.

What are you talking about? Martin doesn't turn the puck over "far too much". And comparing him to Tom Poti is retarded.

I think he deserves consideration. After all, Martin is one of the only of these guys to actually has to go up against the super stars of the NHL each night (on the shutdown unit which is paired against the Crosby's, Jagr's, and Forsberg's). He doesn't get soft minutes, and is very sound defensively.

I agree, he's somewhat underrated on the boards. I'm not trying to put him top 8 but he should get consideration for the 9/10 slot.

Meszarous is a great young defenseman. I am a huge fan of is, I see simularities to a young Lidstrom. Plays exactly the same way Lidstrom did when he came into the league though Lidstrom was more of a game breaker at his age. I think the tools are there. Anyhow Meszarous is not much better then J-BO, at 22 years old J-Bo broke out with 46 points and played 25 minutes a night in all situations. I think Meszarous has more upside then J-Bo but as of right now the better defenseman in J-BO. Dont kid yourself.

I don't. Bouwmeester still has the goods to be a top 5 defenseman in the league someday. I don't see Meszaros having that kind of upside.

My list:
1. Pitkanen
2. Phaneuf
3. Bouwmeester
4. Hamhuis
5. Klesla (I'm still very high on him)
6. Weber
7. Seabrook
8. Meszaros
9. Ballard
10. Suter

I didn't include anyone who hasn't played atleast an NHL game.

11. Volchenkov...

I dont see how you could not. The kid just exceeds expectations in everything he does. In the pre season he played in three streght games in a row, he then went on to make the Sens as a bottom pair defenseman, then after the olympics he moved into the Sens top 4 paired with Redden, As the Sens defense was hit hard by injuries Meszarous had a string of 10 games where he was forced to play between 25-30 minutes a night including a 37 minute preformence against Buffalo. He finished the season with 10 goals,39 points and was +34.

Need I remind you that he is only 20 years old. What does Meszarous have to do to prove to people he has top 5 upside as a defenseman in the NHL?

It's easy. I see him as solid in every area, but he's not exceptional at anything.

I don't know why you're telling me a bunch of things I already knew. I watched him too.

Well, for one, I'd like to see him do it again. I just don't see that upside at the moment.

So you dont see a 20 year old defenseman inproving? He had a hell of a rookie season. Look at his resume.

When did I say that? I just said I'd like to see him do it again. A sophomore slump is entirely possible.

Well if he does what he has done on a yearly basis with some added offense say 50 points a season and gets a little better defensivly to play against the opponits top line, he will indeed be a top defenseman in the league.

Hes on his way there right now.
