If he goes to Detroit, it will come back to haunt us. Mark my words.

It doesn't say that Detroit is interested in Garon. The author of the article just lists Garon as a goalie that Detroit could possibly acquire.

...

Detroit needs a goalie and the Kings just so happen to have one or two available. That's all this is.

That, and Osprey's (I believe) conversation with Lombardi, lead me to believe the Kings aren't shopping Garon.

I think he will come back to haunt us no matter what team he is on. So what does it matter.......oh and Garon for Kronwall

ANYWHERE that Garon goes has a mid-to-high probability of "haunting". It also has the possibility of being as innocuous as Jamie Storr was in Carolina...

One quick thought - Detroit has lost SO much firepower and leadership that they may very well be passed the days of making average goaltenders look like studs.

I'm just sayin...

And for the record, I think a Cloutier / Garon tandem has the potential to be the best platoon in the league - better than the Wild duo of 2 yrs ago. DL, keep Garon!!

Garon is better at this moment than Storr ever was in his career.

I totally agree. I really hope we keep them both and let them share the load.

Just that "the plan is to keep Garon" (his words). I agree with some of the other posters: the Detroit guy is merely listing a name that might be available, not one that is being shopped.

Out of curiosity how many NHL quality goalies do the Wings need? They have Legace, Stefan Liv and were reportedly interested in Belfour, what would they need Mathieu Garon for? I honestly can't see Garon being happy with the Wings if he's in the AHL.

They don't have Legace.

All they have is Osgood right now.

That's not really true. Even if you are even including pro careers, they both seem/seemed to lack the mentality that a true number one has.

And Howard. A guy whom I am sure would win the starting job by mid-season.

But alas, he's under 50.

DL apparently acquired Cloutier partially in hopes that Garon can learn from his competitive attitude.

However, I'm not going to dismiss MG as a head case just yet...

I think Crawford will be gone in less than two years, and DL will be thinking "Why did I ever listen to him."

We all know that Crawford's just a stop-gap until Sutter gets canned.
