OT: it's 118 w/humidity...

...On my back porch right now. The pool is 88 naturally heated degrees. The a/c's been on all day. So even though it's SoCal and July I'm checkin' out the Ice Hockey boards. My question is...do I have enough beer?

Agreed....in PV, since it's coastal and usually cool, so we don't have
A/C....it's soooo hot...i had to go down to whole foods and use the wifi just to get out of the heat...

This is redonkulous. Having rolling black outs here in the valley. And everytime the power goes out the a/c doesn't start back up on it's own. We actually have to shut them down for 30 minutes in order for them to turn back on. Fark!

KoreaTown 3 story building from 1929 is built for ventilation - but ALL the heat is rising to top floor where I live...

If not for portable AC unit on wheels in home office, I would be at theatre watching "Little Man" just for the air conditioning.

Ahhh it's nice and cool (relatively) up here in the VC. It only got upwards of ninety today.

I was thinking the same about watching a movie just to stay cool. However, there are no movies that interest me or my girlfriend. I heard Lady in the Water was terrible.

Just so no one mistakes me for a "Little Man" fan - I would only be there for the air conditioning - that was my joke attempt. I swear. The commercial alone makes me change the channel.

Some studio exec will actually put that one on his resume one day...

A Scanner Darkly is interesting enough to pay for.

I hear ya, Reap...I'm right near your border (Whole Foods on Crenshaw and PCH). It is cooler here than in PV right now.

Read State of Fear by Michael Crichton, and he'll try and convince you global warming is a hoax.

I'd like to say I feel bad for you guys, but I'm not sure I do... I'm too busy feeling sorry for myself. Here in Calgary today it was about ~86, and even that's WAY too hot for me. Anything over 60 is a waste of heat.

I could never live in California, I don't think.

I'm on the West side as well where Valley View leads into Bolsa Chica. It was at least 100 today.

The sky was pretty wicked about a half hour ago. Everything outside had an orange glow to it. There's finally a cool breeze coming in but the house is still very warm.

On hot days, just do what the Bundys do. Go to a supermarket and pretend you are shopping. Best place is Home Depot because they got some nice patio sets inside that you can just chill and look at design magazines.

It turns out my 4 day weekend trip to Alaska couldn't have been better timed. It was 71 degrees for a high today in Anchorage - very little humidity. I never thought I'd be fleeing to Alaska to escape the heat of West LA!

Seattle was 97 today - so you REALLY have to fly north to escape it.
