Actually the new GM for the pens, Schero, offered mcguire a job as head of the scouting department but mcguire turned it down. If i'm not mistaken, I also believe pierre boivin offered mcguire a scouting job with the habs a few years back. Mcguire does have credibility in the hockey circles.

It`s Pierre Maguire that`s the mirage. And Boivin may be an idiot.

But I will say this, if I was Carbo I would make Latenfresse sweat like crazy during the summer. Put him in a hard regiment, boxing training is usualy the hardest and that`s what out Lafleur back in shape before he returned playing hockey for the Rangers. Latendresse is too imporant for the Habs to miss the boat with him. They have to give him all the chances to succeed.

Those aren't exactly the type of positions McGuire has in mind and I'd hardly call scouting a "front-office" position. He's a dingleberry.

A testicle.

I can see the Latendresse/Bertuzzi comparison. Both of them could lay waste to their respective leagues if they gave a damn.

Wasn't lats a 1st rounder, then the year of the draft got injured?

People who say he is overhyped because he is french, maybe YOU should forget he is french and ACTUALLY watch him play. He might be lazy, which I can't stand, but honestly with the right people around him, that could be broken. He does have a lot of great qualities that would make him a great player, just like everyone else drafted. Hopefully he pans out, I don't know, but no one does

That`s why I say they should push him like crazy this summer.
