That would be heaven! I'd take a minor league team affliated with the Rangers over the Devils every time. It's a long way from happening though.

I'd go buy tickets for the Pack if they were that close as oppose to hartford...not good for the hockey fans there since it's their only hockey left they have there, but nice for someone like me to think about anyway.

Actually, according to the article, there's a guy, who used to be part of the Whalers ownership (who's name escapes me, ) who wants to control/own a hockey team in Hartford--he's offered to buy the Wolfpack, but the Rangers haven't shown any interest in that so far. The idea would be to move the Wolfpack to Brooklyn and then bring in another AHL team to Hartford. So it's a win-win situation (as far as I'm concerned).

I believe the man you are thinking of is Howard Baldwin.

Howard Baldwin has bought the rights to the AHL Louisville franchise that is currently not operating. If the Rangers move their AHL team to Brooklyn, then he will operate the Lowell franchise out of Hartford.

Edit: Lowell / Louisville

Now, now, now, that's illegal, and we all know what happens to copyright infringers..

Not a big deal.. this Baldwin guy wants a team in HFD.. He wanted to buy the 'Pack, but the Rangers didn;t have an interest in selling them now.. He's trying to set up ana gremeent with the lightning, who don;t have a set agreement with any AHL team..

The "brooklyn" mention comes to play because they may build a rink there, in which case it would make sense to have the farm so close, but as nobody's built a 10K + seat arena yet, and no plans to do so, the talks are pre-mature..

Basically, this guy wants to own a team in Hartford, most likely an AHL team.. The Rangers would love to have a team close by in Brooklyn, so there may be soemthing there, but not for a while..

That would be great.Minor league BB has been a huge success in BKLYN and I think the wolfpack would draw well in BKLYN.

How great would it be to get to see the up and coming Rangers for a cheap price right here in the city.Hopefully this moves forward and comes to be.

baldwin bought the dormant ahl franchise that used to be in louisville...according to the article he is trying to get an affliation with tb who currently doesn't have their own AHL team. so if that happens and then the pack moved, the tb's minor league team would move into hartford...

baldwin tried all summer to buy the pack but cvc said no
