maybe i see your point on murray, but Bonk!! last season in Febuary and March EVERY hab fan alive wanted Bonks head on a plate!!!!!!!!!! Perault could replace Bonk in a heartbeat. What role did Bonk play last season?? Like I said before Yanic had 57 pts last season, how many did Bonk have? Just MO

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Bonk was actually solid in February and March. It was around December that many were calling for his head.

In any event, Bonk's a big body who's solid defensively, solid on the PK and can jump up to a higher line if necessary. He's versatile. He's got decent fundamentals. He's got a big body and, while not a bruiser, he uses his body in both the offensive and defensive zone to protect the puck and keep players to the perimeter respectively.

Perreault can't do any of that.

Bonk's also generated some chemistry with Murray and Begin. I daresay Bonk adds some proven skill and versatility to a line with two glorified pluggers with stone hands.

Perreault, on the other hand, doesn't make players around him better. He's a one-man machine. He does what he does, which is score 20 goals from the high slot, and win 60% of his draws. He doesn't rely on any player to accomplish those feats, but in turn doesn't make anyone around him better either. Players who are one-man crews don't fit in on an energy line.

Mike8 summarized it pretty well.. Perreault is possibly the king of the floaters, is one of the softest players in the league and defensively sucks big time... Plus, outside his wrist shot and scoring sense, his overall skills are mediocre... He is a poor stickhandler, poor to pass to puck, no vision, and a pretty mediocre skater... In fact he has minor leagues skills.. He is the most lucky guy EVER... Always found ways to score goals despite not being a NHL level skilled guy... In fact, he cheated all his carrer long playing an atrocious all around game to keep his offensive stats look like he was an offensive force... If Perreault was playing for winning, he wouldnt have lasted long in the NHL, he just dont have what it takes to compete at this level... He would top my list of the worst impostors who played in the NHL without being in reality NHL material... On pair with a guy like Lalime...

Plekanec would make Perreault looks like a bantam midjet.

Bonk is one of our best defensive player and did a very interesting line with Begin and Murray.

Having a one dimension offensive player on our 4th line is plain dumb
