Calgary-NYR Proposal

To Flames: Poti, Carter, Tyutin
To Rangers: Iginla, Saprykin, Gauthier, 1st

Edit: This was not my proposal, found it off another hockey board and thought I'd share. Should have stated that. That deal is a pipe dream.

How about:

Poti & Carter for Gauthier, Saprykin & '04 1st?

I would rather keep Tyutin in NY and Calgary will be able to get more for Iginla than that

It's not about value it's about money and Calgary would be adding on about 3-4 mill with that offer.

That's pretty harsh.

Iginla >>>>>>> Carter
Poti and Gauthier are a wash (MAYBE Poti is SLIGHTLY higher in value) -- Poti's clearly WAY better offensively but Gauthier is a physical presence and better defensively (who isn't?).
Tyutin = 1st

I don't think Calgary would. I would, in a heartbeat. And I love Tyutin.

We'd be lucky to get Iginla and Gauthier for Poti, Carter, and Tyutin. I wouldn't push our luck and ask for two firsts (Saprykin was 9th overall in '99).

Also -- Tyutin's value is much higher here than anywhere else. The rest of the league sees him as a potential top four defenseman. We see him as "our best prospect" and a hopeful top pair defenseman.

its a pretty fair deal but tyutin should be untouchable...

only way i'd even consider moving him in the deal is if calgary was in last place and we were certain to get ovechkin with that pick

No way Calgary would ever go for a deal with someone like Poti in it but if it did happen then Iginla would turn into Val Kamensky and Poti would become the next Bobby Orr.

also forgetting Saprykin who himself is a very solid prospect.

That deal is really lopsided in favor of us.

Flames & Rangers make bad trading parters.

If and when Calgary decides to trade iginla they will be looking for the following:

Cheaper proven NHL forwards, of which the Rangers really have none (they'd be looking for much better than what Lundmark has proven). And a PP QB, preferably cheap.

One thing the Flames would not be interested in are young defenseman, as that is their teams biggest organizational strength.

Flames get ***** in the above deal.

That's right. Thanks for the correction.

Are you crazy ?? A pretty fair deal my _____ !! The Flames get schooled in this deal....BIG TIME !! Iginla alone is worth Poti, Carter & Tyutin, IMO. The Flames would have no use for Tom Poti's overpaid one demensional play. If Iginla is dealt to NYR, believe me, you are going to notice it when you look at your depth charts afterwards.

TO NYR: Iginla, Saprykin & Gauthier
TO CGY: Carter, Lundmark, Blackburn, Tyutin & Nedved

OK, for giggles and grins......I agree about the Flames being Schooled on the original deal and yours is probably closer to reality.....But let's say Lundmark and Saprykin are pretty much a wash and take them out of the deal (If only because I like Lundmark!).....The sticking point is Tyutin who I don't think the Rangers can afford to give up, how bout their 2nd best young d -man (maybe one of Baranka, Nate Guenin (who I like) or whoever) plus a decent pick instead?

To NYR: Iginla and Gauthier
To CGY: Carter, Blackburn, Nedved, Baranka/Guenin and a 4th

I'd say maybe sub in Poti for Carter and Guenin but don't think you really need Poti with Leopold around...

With the draft lottery it wouldn't be certain the Rangers get the #1 pick anyway.
