Minnesota claims Wiemer

Looks like the Wild just got a bit tougher. Think there's anyone in particular they're looking to play tougher against? :p

Very good point. However, I'm not liking the fact that guys in our division who like to play us tough are getting even tougher while we aren't.

Dammit.

I don't like teams we have to play often getting better.

I'm surprised the cheap-ass Wild added to their payroll.

Where's the rollie eyes when I need one...

WE ARE NOT CHEAP-*****! Ugh!

We are conservative with our money for future signings and deals.

Weimer doesn't make a lot either. 1.6 isn't a lot and the Wild thought he was worth it. The Moose makes around that much money also.

That's way too much for Weimer consdiering his career really took a downward spiral after leaving Calgary.

Don't take it as an insult, it wasn't meant as one.

Fact: The wild have bottom 5 payroll in the NHL (not sure which actual spot)

Fact: The Wild have sold out every home game they've had

Which equals to the wild owners making TONS of money, while spending very little. I just thought they would continue this trend until it stopped working.

Must've been this pic that drove them to pick up another goon.

I wish Beruzzi just threw him accross the ice instead of throwing him down on the ice...that would have been funny.

Weimer was born to be a Wild and play for Lemaire. I think this guy will blossom in this system. Great pickup by the Wild.

I think the Wild's next home and home series with Vancouver got a little more interesting.

Makes you wonder though - they decided not to resign Ronning for less money? Maybe he was too offensively creative - made all the other players wonder what life would be like without the Lemaire straight-jacket.

This shows me that nothing has happened transaction wise in the NHL lately. A waiver pickup gets this much attention.

Weimer is not a great player. He was waived by the Islanders at 1.6 million. I'm not worried about the Wild picking him up in the least.

Canucks should go out and acquire Eric Boulton from the Sabres.

Um, we didn't sign Ronning because we got Bouchard.

How dare you compare Cliff 'the great one' Ronning to anybody named Bouchard!

1.6 for Wiemer is quite a bit
