Added this round: Dwight Helminen (F)
Nominations: Ryan (5), Liffton (4), Falardeau (3), Zeliska (1), Flatt (1), Roche (1)

Voted Kveton. Russell I just don't see his game translating to the NHL with his size so I see him as a huge long shot NHLer. He's an offensive player like Dawes that has to be on the top 2 lines to succeed at his max potential.

Add Roche

It's all personal opinion. There's no true set criteria. However, many of us use three factors - 1) potential, 2) likelihood of reaching that potential, 3) how far along a prospect is to reaching that potential.

For the most part the poll bears that out. Marc Staal, for example, is considered potentially a top pairing D-man, at least to the point where he could play that many minutes and be placed in important situations. He's also considered not that far from making the NHL - next summer at the earliest. Plus, with his work ethic, plus the fact that his brothers have already showed what it takes to make the NHL, there's a very good chance he becomes an NHL players, and, more importantly, a Ranger, in the near future.

OTOH, someone like Jessiman, who is toiling in the ECHL, looks so far from being an NHL player, that, while he may possess a lot of talent, he has yet to show any inkling of eventually being an NHL player.

Hopefully, that somewhat helps.

Rangers don't have Potters rights so he is not eligible.

I believe he signed a contract with Hartford, much like Bahensky.

Rookie users can't vote on polls. They have to wait until they become full-fledged registered users before they are eligible to vote.

On that note, since I barely come in here with a vote: Add Falardeau.

The Rangers have Bahensky's rights though so no other team can sign him. Rangers don't have Potter's right so at this moment any NHL could sign him if they wanted (like what happened to Genoway when the Caps signed him in the offseason)

Thanks for the explanation but it's more so the "xxxxxx in, xxxxx out" replies that I don't understand....

You have to pick one player and recommend another player be taken off the list???

You vote for the player you want (people say...Voted for XXXXX)

and then you also say who you wanted added that isn't already on the poll choices.
