With no trades, I keep it just like that becuz Montreal scout know about the prospect much more than us.. dont want to screw away our team with my RDSCoverage about prospects

But.. I would like to pick Joenssu somehow

the idea is to be creative and have your own point of view.

I'm not an expert in this but this is what I had in mind when those picks were made

Round 1, 20th overall: Bobby Sanguinetti, D

Round 2, 49th overall: Nigel Williams

Round 2, 53rd overall: Alexander Vasyunov

Round 3, 66th overall: Ryan White, C

after this it gets fuzzy but BPA would be my strategy!!

You can do this maybe in 3-4 years, right now is a little too early.

My first reaction would be to keep the 16th pick and select Chris Stewart, but if I was put in the situation to re-draft the habs pick after the trade (keeping in mind the players available, of course):

20: Bob Sanguinetti, D, 6'1'', 174 pounds, Offensive defensemen

49: Artem Anisimov, C, 6'3'', 187 pounds, Playmaking center, possibility of powerforward ("has all the tools of...")

53: Jesse Joensuu, LW, 6'4'', 207 pounds, Physical forward.

66: Jonas Ahnelov, D, 6'3'', 205 pounds, Physical offensive defensemen

139: Jan-Mikael Juutilainen, C, 5'11'', 183 pounds, Finesse Center

199: Andrei Popov, RW, 6'0'', 187 pounds, Could become a power forward in the mold of Keith Primeau (according to draft reviews)

But...its pretty hard considering I have not really seen any on the pics play before.
I'll refer to the teams judgment of what they think they needed and what they wanted and what was available.

perfect, although I might have taken maxwell instead of vasyunov, and worked out

a deal to pick up Hughes to round out the draft- but sanguinetti, williams and white

would be on my list

I probably wouldn't have traded down. I don't know as much about prospects as most of you do, but the three I liked the best before the draft were Wishart/Mitera/Summers. I would have to watch them play more to see who I liked best and then rely on some of my scouts.

1st round: Patrik Berglund
2nd round: Nigel Williams (Bad 1st rounder, becomes really interesting as a 2nd...)
2nd round: Blake Geoffrion (I know, homer choice but why not?)
3rd round: Brad Marchand (Loved him all year, and at the Memorial Cup) Though toughest round with Ahnelov, Tulupov and Forney still available.....
5th round: Stefan Chaput (Sleeper pick)
7th round: Benjamin Breault (Scheduled to go much earlier, becomes another sleeper at this round....)

Just for the fun and not going with the players we did picked, cause anyway, I didn't know Cepek and Valentenko at all, I've decided to go which who I think would've been the BPA at the time of the draft without going with Timmins's strategy to go with d-men.

But I'm really happy about our actual picks, especially after seeing Carle's play and Fischer's.....As far as White, well it's possible than in the future the biggest debate would be White VS Marchand, moreso after seeing him play in the camp versus Marchand's play with Équipe Canada but there's loooooong way to go and in the end White's grit and desire VS Marchand small stature could be the difference.....
