He's had BUffalo sending Marty Biron at E3 on several occasions. I'd feel sorry for you if he's right this time.

You guys missed out on that Antropov/Zetterberg deal last summer.

O well, your loss.

I'm disappointed this is a rumour from he-who-shall-not-be-named since I'm hoping that the Wings do sign Hasek for this year.

He basically supports any rumor for any available goalie the wings have a chance at getting. Then if they actually DO get one of those guys, he looks like Nostradomus. See, I made 34 guesses and one of them came true, I'm psychic.

I'm a part-time psychic with a track record of being 100% accurate. Need proof?

I predict that at some point in the future, Detroit will make a trade and it will involve goaltending. I will also predict that in the future, everyone here will have to make an important decision and it will involve money.

That trade may be 50 years from now, just like the decision you have to make that involves money - but it will still be "in the future".

Hasek back?

Art Regener has just reported that the Wings have signed Hasek to a one-year deal. Wow, Eklund was right.

I think so. Belfour has all the injury risk of Hasek without the upside. Dom has had groin difficulty for years now but he is still a world class goalie. Assuming this cost less than $2 million I absolutely love it. I'm shocked as hell, but love it.

Absolutely! My only concern with Dom is injuries. The dude could sprain a finger and be out the year. But before he was hurt he was excellent for the Sens...a Vezina contender for sure.

eh, if he's dirt cheap, go for it. platooning with Ozzy and no Olympics will hopefully keep him healthy and, if healthy, he'll probably be one of the top goalies in the league. Health is a big if, though.

hahaha bow down TO DA EKH!

no seriously, where else could the fart go?
this proves hard feelings are for fans, not for management

Oh well... it's all about whether he survives to the playoffs. The rest is irrelevant.

I dont think Dom signed here with the expectation to "platoon" with Osgood.....Hasek is still Hasek. He'll want to be the workhorse, no question.

In the interest of his groin, they should let him practice and limber up for half the year with spot duty and THEN let him take over full time come the allstar break/trade deadline.

If he's healthy he'll be the man in the playoffs for sure- but regular season, I think even Hasek has to realize that he had better pace himself.

Great signing if it's under a mill, if he signed for the league minimum like he was claiming he would a month ago it's an absolute no-brainer. Detroit gives up no assets and very little cap room and gets a premier goalie if he stays healthy- good chance he doesn't but then Detroit has bought the time to see what Liv/Howard/MacDonald are ready for this year or pick up a Giguere/Nabokov if they look like they've returned to form.

The only guy on the trade market I would have preferred was Toskala- but the price was too high and Detroit doesn't have a whole lot of valuable assets that they can spare.

I think the opposite. If his groin is going to fail you want it to happen before the trade deadline. I'd play him quite a bit early and mid-season, and rest him down the stretch.

I just saw it on ESPN news, and I am shaking my head. This guy had better be playing for next to nothing, and he better hope he can stay healthy. I'm not sure about this one.
