In that article it has his stats from last year be4 he got hurt.

28-10-4
2.09 GAA
.925 Save Percentage

Those r pretty impressive numbers. Mind u he was playing for the Sens who had a awsome regular season so his numbers are a bit inflated. I wonder what the price tag is. Im guessing it wont be for much. Maybe around a mil????? Could be a steal if he stays healthy.

Aebisher

So with Detroit and Florida "filling" their need with grand-fathers, which team(s) is (are) left as a potential market for Aebisher???

I don't really see what other choice the Wings had. Hasek was an awful lot better than Belfour was last year. Hasek on a cheap tide-them-over deal is probably as good as anything. What other choices are out there? Give up tons in a trade for Nabokov or Giguere... only to have those guys flop/continue to flop? At huge cap hits? Play Liv or Howard behind Osgood?

I don't really see how this can fail for the Wings. Worst case, Hasek continues to struggle with his health and part way through the season they have to make the trade for another goalie, but with better optics on what they're trading for and with a reduced cap hit. Best case, Hasek plays at the level he did last year, for peanuts, and maybe with a reduced workload stays relatively healthy. It can't really go wrong for the Wings, given their situation.

Legace carried that team last year, and he hasn't got a sniff on the FA market. Sad

He'll probably be at $1mill, but I'm wondering why wouldnt' the Sens re-sign him if he was that cheap?

Yeah if they want a goaltender for only 1 year to w8 after Emery i think they would have been better with hasek than gerber

Hasek A
Osgood B

The Red Wings better start working on plan C because they will be going out in the first round again with those 2 in nets

I don't see the big deal... teams prefer acquiring UFA goalies without giving up assets, in case it works out.

When those blow up we trade Aebischer.

That came out of nowhere lol!

I can think of worse situations than Aebisher and Huet in net.

Of course, most fans would prefer to trade Aebischer because Danis is ready for a backup job and Halak is pushing in hamilton but...

2 millionish isn't that bad of a cap hit... theo alone was costing us 6!

i don't think we are going to see abby or huet traded until one of them solidifies there position as number 1.
i dont think bob is shopping abby around, he'll listen but he's not quikening the digits.

by the way HASEK is a clown he thought he won the cup mid last year with that "you call that a shut out" game against us. real winners don't make comments like that, Hasek is burnt toast.

god i hate that guy.

Bleh... I've never understood the need for Aebisher anyways...

I always considered him a salary/position dump from Colorado. If we can get him out of the way to make space for other, younger, cheaper backups I'd be happy, whatever we get in exchange.

Its time we bring Dany in montreal (if only to keep him in the organisation...)

This is quite the mystery. He was very good for Detroit last year, yet is getting flushed down the toilet. Maybe his agent is overpricing him. Why Florida or Detroit didn't sign him is strange.

Ever since he started to make his name in Buffalo I had a hate on for him. My worst sports moment of this century was having him hoist the Stanley Cup. At least he was never a Bruin or a Leaf.
