They need to go back to divisional playoffs so there will be more rivalries.

Rangers Isles always tough

Rangers Devils too..Devils can only sell out when they play Rangers or Philly, thats always good to feed the rivalry.

The NY area is and always will be a Ranger town. No matter how many cups the Devils Isles have won.

Sens-Flyers has yet to be mentioned, i mean com'on these two teams combined for the most pim's in a single game, they hate each other.

I guess it counts as one of the worst rivalaries tho, since the sens wipe the floor with the flyers in the playoffs.

Perhaps some of you have given an explanation for this, I haven't read through. But what the hell is a "Worst Rivalry"? What a stupid concept, excuse me. There's either a rivalry or there isn't one; and some are fiercer that others.

I think the Devils and Flyers died two years ago, but I do believe its going to be back. We have a fighter who WANTS to fight so,..but...I think the Flyers vs The Rangers, theres usually something going down when those two play. The Senators vs Flyers was just ocne, nothing else happened. But...obviously, you have to take the hatred of fans and say, Devils vs Flyers is the best Philly/NJ Rivalry

But i think colorado and detriot is the best

Binos just wanted to be able to say that the Battle of Alberta is fake, and that Edmonton isn't worthy of being involved with any real rivalries, that's all .

I know you're not supposed to select your own team but a lot of people have so I will too...

I really like the :

Canucks/Oilers...not a huge huge rivalry but always fast, hardhitting games and we certainly don't get along.

Canucks/Flames...better than the Oilers rivalry and a little more intense, but not always as entertaining hockey.

Islanders/Rangers...It's been posted several times and I have to agree, it's a ferocious rivalry.

Avalanche/Redwings of the late 90's/early 00's was one of my favorite rivarlies of all time.

I personally think the Senators/Leafs rivalry is overhyped... I hate the leafs and love the Senators but I personally prefer the Leafs/Canadiens, and the Leafs/Sabres (and underrated rivalry IMO)...at least from an outsider's perspective

San Jose/Dallas isn't near the best, but it's pretty damn good. From the days of Marchment/Belfour. Very even as well. The only two teams ever to win the current Pacific Division.

I think a good rivalry from back in my day at least was between Washington and Pittsburgh. Now that they have the super young guns, hopefully things get back to how they used to be.

The worst rivalry (in a good way) for me at least is Montreal - Toronto...every game is so exciting one of these days I swear I am going to have a heart attack. It doesn't matter how badly or well either of these teams are playing, when they meet its splendid.

I live in Edmonton and I agree that the Edmonton/Calgary rivalry is more a sibling rivalry. Sure, some Edmontonians completely depise the Flames but most of it seems to be just razzing. "We beat you. Nah nah nah!"

After losing 6 of 7 series, their management just grew to hate us. before then no one really saw it as a rivalry. And the two teams are only getting built up against eachother now because of Crosby and Ovechkin. Take one away and no one cares.
This is the truth.

Most Pens fans don't really care about the Caps, and those who do dislike them do so because of the way Caps fans act towards them or because of the whole Jagr fiasco. Most of the anger is only coming from the Washington side of things, for obvious reasons.

But isn't that pretty much our rivalry with Philly, with Philly fans not really caring much about us?

I think the Pens-Canes games this year will be interesting, to say the least.

Worst: New York Rangers - New York Islanders

I can't even remember a season when both teams were actually good. I'd like to think I've watched a good handful of the games between these two over the past half decade, and they've done absolutely nothing for me.

Probably, but I think the Pens/Flyers thing is bolstered by whole the cross state rivalry deal. I mean, the Pens for whatever reason couldn't buy a win against Florida for a while, but there's no real anger there.

Okay, I've just read a few and now I see a reason to speak of a "poor rivalry". You just said it... when their should be a rivalry, like the above, but always one team is good while the other is bad.

No, it's not.

This is one of the worst, most artificial rivalries in hockey. The teams don't play with any particular level of intensity against each other. The last time these teams played each other in the playoffs, TV was in black and white and black people didn't vote. Since Toronto has joined the Eastern conference, Montréal has sucked. This is a made-up rivalry.

Anaheim-Phoenix's starting to become a good rivalry as well as LA vs. SJ
