The Sporting News' Curse

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn...c.php?t=124662

The Sporting News cursed Buffalo's season proclaiming them the prohibitive favorites and their choice for winning the Stanley Cup. Guess I won't have anything to look forward to when I return from the desert as they'll probably be eliminated in the first round like the last few times they were picked to win. Of course those times were before most of the posters were born.

What interests me most is the Zagrapan reference. If Timmy's no good to go, and we lose a few more bodies to injuries, I don't think Zagrapan is out of the question...

...he'd be an addition that is strictly offensive-minded in nature, and a gigantic project..AND I definitely hope it doesn't come to that... BUT...

It could..

<--- Unafraid.

Let other towns have their little curses. Buffalo has a little something called 'fate' to worry about.

I don't think it's fair to deem him a "gigantic" project. It's nice to set the bar low to be pleasantly surprised with progress made (see: Bills 3-13 prediction), but let's give him his due. A talented 20 year-old who needs a pro season to develop yes, a gigantic project no.

I think it was the Sporting News' NHL preview magazine that said Buffalo let go disgruntled goalie Martin Biron. That makes them lose all credibility with me. Therefore, I don't respect their opinion on Zagrapan either.

Come on now. You act as if Buffalo sports teams aren't already cursed to begin with. Some sports magazine can't possibly make it any worse than it is already. So I'm not concerned.

You guys will be fine, just don't be on the Sorts Illustrated cover, that's the kiss of death.
