I think Tanabe looks more appealing by the moment but I think the Kings are done dealing...

Dumont is the best option at this point.
Don't think I'd group Allison in with the others...yeah, there was ugliness in LA, but he's tremendously competitive...when he steps on the ice, he does it to win.

But ya, Dumont or Nolan would somehow fill that void that seems to be missing in the lineup. Weird... I do agree that we need someone and although not just anyone, we do need SOMEONE!

The Flyers might be looking to rid themselves of Nedved. He's a center and he only has one year remaining on his contract. We could probably get him for next to nothing.

He hasn't played well since the 03-04 season though.

How about this?

1) Sign Dumont long-term

2) Trade Dumont, Frolov, & Sopel for MALKIN

3) Sign Tanabe & Nolan

'Cuz rebuilding with O'Sullivan AND Malkin is better than with just O'Sullivan. Who's with me?

Nolan - Malkin - Cammalleri
O'Sullivan - Conroy - Brown

Forget Tanabe. That guy has never lived up to potential. Malkin cannot be had for a package like that.

Agree on signing Nolan and Dumont.

So we'll add a 1st round pick and call it even. And hey, I think it's a pretty good package. Essentially, it's 2 top six forwards for 1.

Two top six forwards and a bottom pairing defenseman are not going to fetch the best player in the world not playing in the NHL.

To get him, you'd have to start with O'Sullivan/Kopitar, and add from there.

Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News says that the Kings are after Dumont and that the Kings tried to trade for him last week

That's why he gets the big votes...getting to the stories that no one else can, and reporting to you first. GKJ on your side.

It's sad that the only Kings related news we can get is from a Detroit paper....

I hope the Kings get Dumont, we are really one top 6 forward away from a complete lineup. McCauley, Armstrong, Belanger are really not top 6 forwards.

Sidenote: It is scary to anyone else that the Kings have reportedly gone after alot of guys with injury history Dumont, Lindros, and signed Cloutier, McCauley.

McCauley really doesn't have an injury history when you look at how many games he's appeared in the past couple of seasons.

No real history, but a nagging knee injury does not inspire confidence in me.
