NHL Games on Internet?

I didn't have time to read it, but there seems to be an article in today's Globe and Mail about the NHL putting games on Internet.

It would certainly be great for us expats. I watched the last men's Wimbledon finals on my computer, so I would welcome the chance to watch the Habs with streaming technology.

I could finally chime in on game discussions.

Its a subscription article so I've only read the first couple of lines. I had my hopes up while reading your post but:

The National Hockey League is keenly interested in bringing live broadband streaming of game telecasts into the Canadian market for the coming season.
has me somewhat less excited. Hopefully, it could be a global thing (at some point) but you never know.

Not internet related, but I read in the subway paper this morning that Illico subscribers will have access to Center Ice this season (and NFL, and MLB)

Send a message via MSN to CH Wizard
Yeah, it'd be cool if NHL would start broadcasting games online only ala MLB (mlb tv).

If it's on the Internet, anyone can watch it, regardless of where you're from. You just have to know how to get around their IP blocker.

Finally! It should be 29.99$ a month for all three services, for a minimum of 12 months, but there is no official words from the Videotron website yet.

What if I just want Center Ice, is that going to be around 10$ a month?

Bell ExpressVu sells NHL Center Ice alone for 199$ for the season. Better then 29.99$ x 12 months = 359.88$. But we will see what Videotron decides.
