How many times will the Kings beat the Ducks this season?

My guess...

Anaheim wins six out of eight games against LA.

How did I know you'd post something like this? The supposed fan of both teams? When is someone going to realize he's only here to rile Kings fans up?

If he were a Ducks fan he would have included the choice of '0' in the poll...

On paper the Ducks should win at least 6, but the Kings love to confuse their fans, so... maybe 5

Clearly he's just doing this to get Kings fans riled. I don't see this posted in the Ducks forum. Haha maybe it's not the Kings he hates, but you guys.

I say eight, because I refuse to predict a single loss just yet.

Really, don't you know you're NOT wanted here with all your cool Kings trash talk?

You have your own stupid message board with Spongebob, go play over there.

I am stepping off the reservation here but I say 5 wins. This will be a "lunch bucket" type of team and they will battle hard every night. Hard work beats skill most nights.

The Ducks should have a better record, but I'm completely sold yet. Defensive depth and scoring should be concerns, but the specialty teams should be lights out.

If Bryzgalov fails and Giguere continues his fall back to mediocrity, they might be in tough for the playoffs. They have all kinds of opportunities for the sophomore slump, and among all of the teams with realitic chances in the West, Anaheim relies the most on their kids. If anything, Pronger adds an element of expectation that might be hard to exact from their young core.

That is a lot of "if's", and I fully expect Anaheim to compete for the division title, but it's not a given.

Oh, they'll split the series.

Defensive depth?!?

Are you serious?

Pronger, Niedermayer, Beauchemin, Vishnevski, DiPenta, O'Donnell - plus a few in the minors are fully capable of stepping in.

Vishnevski, O'Donnell and Dipenta are dime-a-dozen defensemen. Vish is on the fast track out of town anyway.

No one doubts that Pronger and Niedermayer are two of the top three or four defensemen in the league. Beauchemin looks like the real deal. The other three are very, very slow and lack solid puck moving skills. I bet Kondratiev gets a long look in camp for that reason alone.

From top to bottom, the Kings' d-corp is more solid than the Ducks. The top end is obviously in Anaheim's favor, but Norstrom, Gleason, Sopel and Miller are simply better than Beauchemin, O'Donnell, Vishnevski and DiPenta.

The Ducks are considerably faster up front, and have better goaltending, which is why the should be a good ten-to-fifteen points better in the final standings.

Vishnevski's arbitration award was accepted for the upcoming 06/07 season.

Gleason is the only one in your list that could challenge one of those four Duck players. Miller & Norstrom are ageing veterans and both have lost a step while Sopel is just plain awful.

Burke will deal Vishnevski at the first good opportunity.

Norstrom, even at his age, is still light years ahead of Gleason. I'll give you Miller, but he's still better than Vishnevski or Dipenta when healthy. Sopel is underrated because of one poor season on the Isle. He should rebound this year in an enviornment where he isn't being counted on, plus it is a contract year, which magically seems to bring out the best in marginal types.

Funny, I'd bet he doesn't last till training camp with your team.

While I'll agree that Gleason would replace any of those four, I'll take a healthy (hoping) Miller and Norstrom any day of the week. The Jury is still out on Sopel, but, I look for him to rebound under MC, and have a better year than last in NY.

The kings will beat the ducks 8 times , along with the ducks winning only 6 games next year having the worst season ever in hockey history. The Oilers then get the 1st overall pick in 07
