Although I can't confirm, people are telling me that CKAC is saying we have a very good chance of signing Shanny.

Also people are telling me LCN is reporting the possibility of a trade for Gagne.

All from CHfans...

from Code ;

Flyers to make an offer to Gagné ; 4,5 m$ multi years , and if he doesn't accept , they will look to trade him in the west . Vancouver are really interested .

No way would Bob Clarke let info like that slip. Code is wrong on this one because if any team knew that 4.5 was the Flyers threshold, they would offer 5.0 and force Philly to either take a couple of first rounders or match at a price they weren't/aren't willing to pay.

Code isn't guessing the things ; when he don't know about something , he just says '' i don't know " . He 's in contact with a lot of people around the league that are comunicating betwen themselves . So , basicaly , he just repeats what the people he trusts are saying .Most of the time , it is conversation betwen to team , calls to player's agents that he reports .

To say that the Flyers will offer this to Gagné and that will REGARD to do that if he refuses , doesn't mean that it is a final thing , or a sure shut . That means that they were conversation about that , in the Flyers offices .

i forgot to add this ;

May be Clark really know what he's doing when he let this info slip ; may be he just wants to scare Gagné a little bit , because we all know that he likes his team a lot . It's could be a way to ink him at cheaper price ( than the 5m$ he wants ) . It could also be a way to test the market for him , or to put a GM -Gainey , per exemple ,- in a situation where he could feel that he has to give more .

All that to show that you can't just look at those thing as they simply are and say that it is impossible . We have no clue about what is the reel plan in the head of those peoples.

a personal tought ;

I wouldn't be surprise to see Gagné going to the west , in a big thread that would add Naslund to the Flyers roster ; Naslund would like to play with his friend Forsberg ...

Putting on my Speculation hat, I could see the basis for a Naslund for Gagne deal. That would continue the dramatic makeover of Vancouver's core without worsening the team.

(You just beat me to it.)

From TSN :

Quote:
Veteran winger Brendan Shanahan, who had 40 goals last season with the Red Wings, has narrowed down his options to two teams, Detroit and another unnamed team, a source said Friday. Boston and St. Louis are no longer in the running. Shanahan, 37, will mull it over this weekend and likely make a decision early next week.
Not bad news! Bruins are out of the run, MTL may be still on it!!!

dont know if it has been post

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Pat Hickey reports Shanahan is believed seeking a two year deal at $5 million per, which could prove too rich for the Canadiens. He also claimed the Bruins were believed still in the hunt and that Shanahan may be leaning toward re-signing with the Red Wings. Hickey also addressed rumours of the Canadiens sending an offer sheet to Philadelphia's Simon Gagne, noting he gets the impression Gagne would prefer to remain with the Flyers.

Tsn and the Toronto Star said that The Maple Leafs are reportedly talking to Michael Peca, who is willing to take a pay cut on his $4 million salary to go to Toronto. - Toronto Star

Peca is bright ! he said to Ferguy that he will be willing to have a pay cut if he plays for Toronto , and i suppose that Ferguy think Oh wow !

there no team that are going to sign him without a salary cut !!!!

I'll post this one here, still a rumour anyway.
according Eklund, yeah him again, Habs could be in the bid for Peca. and also Eklund believes Habs will make a major move in the next 2 weeks

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=2340

Quote:
This week we will also see Peca land, and it looks more and more like that landing place will Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal...

Montreal is a team that will make at least "one major move in the next two weeks.."
