I love this move, we got a 2nd line winger we desperately needed and also solved out too many centres problem.

I liked Zues but this is a great move by Clarke.

I know the team has good guys but Chicago is the equvilient of what the Devil Rays are and Clippers and Bengals used to be. I don't hate Chicago, I like a lot of their guys and I like their fans, I just think the organization sucks because in the past 8 or so years their pseudo-ambition to comepete was masked because they would sign a few guys because they were names and not players. I hope it works out for them though, I try to root for them when I can. Maybe the attitude, determination and example Handzus has will filter through the rest of the team.

Stop trading Michal Handzus... oh wait.

*sigh* I'm happy and sad. Handzus was, in my opinion, the team's best all-around player, and definitely their best face-off man. I love Kyle Calder though... man...

I don't know what to say.

Good thing I didn't get that Handzus jersey I was about to buy.

ill agree with that. but i think with the cap they realized they can spend a little more and become a contender. but yea the way they strung thier fans on with an obvious effort to just get by is disgusting

I like this trade. I'll miss Zus a lot, but it's a worth-while trade.

By the way, I can't ****ing believe an HF proposal came true!

One thing that just came to mind:

Didn't Team Canada put out a line of...

Calder Richards Carter

...at the WCs a couple months back?

To me this means that Prims is done as we need his salary for Gags OR more hopefully that Nedved is dealt to the Caps for a sixth rounder to clear his salary.

I think we can get someone to take Nedved for something tangibile, and I think the Caps would take him.

They did well, all three looked very good together.

I'd like to see Hitch give them a shot this year as the 2nd scoring line.

Umberger could be moved back to centre with Sanderson and Kapanen as the 3rd line.

I think they should keep Carter at center. I really like this anyway...

Gagne - Forsberg - Knuble
Calder - Carter - Umberger
Kapanen - Richards - Sanderson

We just had to many centers on the team. Something had to give. I liked Zeus, but he wasn't going to be on a scoring line, and isn't fast enough or physical enough to be a shut down guy. I'm gonna miss that manly hair

True, but then Umberger is learning another position. I suppose Calder can play right wing though.

And I only suggest this because I've seen Carter and Richards play together, it works. Playmaker at centre, goal-scorer on the wing.

The only thing I'm thinking is Carter better step it up defensively this year if Primeau doesn't come back. We're down to essentially one true PK centreman - Richards.

Clarke says Calder can play the PK though, so overall the PK shouldn't be any worse at the forward position.

Clarke also says in his interview that Calder is definitely a left winger that can play on the top three lines, and Calder describes himself as a rugged player. How about staying the course with the top two:

Deuces Wild
Umberger Carter Sanderson

And then have:

Calder Richards Kapanen

...on the third line?

I think Sanderson is a better fit with Richards.

Calder and Kramer might be too alike.

It's ok to cry.

well, i hope calder has some good skills...ive seen him play a bit but im not sure how his game really is. man, this is big news. ****!!

well...the only thing i dont really like (aside from losing a great third line centerman)is that we added salary.

I was not a big fan of Zeus last season. Before you guys get your panties in a knot I know he was injured and played through it. I know he's a good reliable defensive forward, but the changes to the game really killed his style of play. He was just too damn slow, and couldnt cover both ends of the ice like he used to. Anyway, good luck to him in Chicago.

So do you wanna write up the "Nedved for Ovechkin" proposal or should I?
