Its not satirical, but its not that black and white. Its kind of displaying a mundane stuck in a rut kind of feeling, it could be any city really, the band just happens to be from the Peg.

Cool. I'lll definitely try the place out. Are you going to be behind the counter quite a bit? If so, can I talk you into not frying my meat separately (off the record of course)? Old school baby, old school.

I just had one from Queen Donair on Stony Plain and it was freaking amazing. Accompanied by a slurpee made for a spectacular meal. Eventhough I just ate one, I am already craving the next opportunity to have a donair.

they sell oyu the meat apparently but not the sauce.
They have the sauce on the food list.

I wonder how pissed my fiancee would be to see one of those broilers on the kitchen counter.

had queen donair (156 st and stony plain) and it was ok, satisfied my donair craving but wasn't mind blowing. ordered a jumbo, and looked like a swiss donair regular, asked for extra meat (which was stated on their menu over the counter) and the guy said he has no extra meat, although he did. wasn't happy about that but the garlic sauce was good

The sweetsauce isnt that hard to make, then just buy the meat at any local place and you can easily make them at home. I have to because sweet sauce isn't available in Australia, and its not bad. Not quite the same but decent.

It's my brother's place but I like to think it's mine too You can always ask these types of things for sure.

UPDATE: PrimeTime should be open July 20. SHOULD. It will be for sure in the next couple of days if not then. We're just doing finishing touches.

Its also a love story about the city. They are a Winnipeg band and I interviewed them about it.

It's also the theme song to "Less Than Kind" which is a new sitcom on CityTV that is absolutely hilarious. I think it's destined for Corner Gas fame. Season 1 is up for some Canadian Comedy awards, and season 2 starts this fall.

You can check out reruns of Less Than Kind on City Monday nights, well worth it.

Back to regularily scheduled programming.

The best donair is....

At the sub/donair place on jasper Ave a block west of Shaw. If it is still there-haven't loooked in 2 years-the donairs are the best in town, subs are really good as well. Can never remember the name though....

For those of you out who have lived in Edmonton and out east somewhere, which is better: donair or shawarma? Close call but donair takes it IMO
Bet to differ...

Hollywood near Rexall (118 Ave & 84 St) or Fatboyz on Victoria Trail and 132 Avenue.

Yummy!

I don't know if it's been mentioned but The Donair Stop on 98th Ave./Ottewell Road (nestled in the far corner of a little strip mall next to Pizza 73) serves a damn good donair- the best I've had since Charles Smart's was in its heyday.

I stopped by for a donair tonight after work and it was still not open. And I passed by a donair place to go to yours.
I had to settle for a mozza burger.

Any resident Calgarians who can suggest a good donair place in Calgary? I haven't had one since I moved from Edmonton.
