SATAN: Who wants him?

Another miserable game tonight for Miro. Almost cost the Sabres the game with a lazy turnover on the PP. Ruff's doghouse is calling..bow wow.

So he's on the table (hypothetically).

What's the offer? A rugged d-man would be a nice component of any package.

A better question - who wouldn't want him?

Ruff may be the coach, but he doesn't determine who gets moved and who doesn't. And I'm sure that both he and Regier know that their pitiful offense would be EVEN WORSE without Miroslav. So I sincerely doubt that they trade him.

And everyone has bad games and makes defensive gaffes...

Hahaha... when you start an offer with Craig Rivet... you are asking to be laughed at.
Is making awful trade proposals part of the requirement for being a Habs fan?

That "??????" better be a lot because the Sabres are not going to give up Satan for Rivet and some other scrap off your roster. And I doubt they'd be interested in Rivet seeing as he's signed to a gigantic contract.

Exactly. I'm more interested to see how Miro responds to getting benched for the last 11 minutes of the game, post-gaff.

Granted, this is the trade board and that is what this forum is all about. Let the feeding frenzy commence....

Well he's already been bumped to the 2nd line with Kotalik and CuBro so who knows... I guess he's as available now as he'll ever be.

Rivet may be the laughing stock of Hfboards.com but he has very good value around the Nhl so it's not like the Sabres would close the phone, he is solid and has a very good reputation around the league.

I agree with Chainshot, lets give Satan a little bit of time here. I don't think his Sabre future is in jeopardy quite yet.

Lets set a little framework here: Satan, top line winger, will score at least 70-75 points regardless of defensive system.

For Satan I would want:

1- Young winger a year or two away from being a cosistent top line player
1- Cheap, character player
1- 2nd round draft pick

These can be modified depending on the value of the young player, but someone who is a 'sure thing' Dupuis could be that kind of young player, but definatly upgrade the pick to a 2nd rounder and upgrade Brown to Park. THEN you may have a deal.

Nah... it's just too easy to pick on Habs fans with their awful trade proposals.
I can see why though, there isn't much to be desired on their roster.

2nd round sure but no on Park. He's finally breaking out as a player.

The thing is, Dupuis is one of the cheapest players out there to get. That's a bargin in itself.

Secondly he said they wanted a cheap but rugged defensemen, Brad Brown is cheap and rugged. Plus he is doing a bit better this year than last. Why is he scratched? Because we got Henry now.

So you're saying you wouldn't trade Park to get Satan? Park is a decent role player, that's it. Still IMO, Dupuis, Park, and a 2nd wouldn't be enough to get Satan from Buffalo. I doubt Buffalo would want a quality for quantity trade, which is what that is.

Park isn't just a decent role player, he's an awesome PKer, and can score real good clutch goals.

I was just tossing out some things. I would love to see Satan and Gaborik paired up.

Also Satan is making 4.5 million, that's another thing to consider. I know he's great and all but 4.5 million, I wonder how many of the bigger teams would take on his contract...

Which begs the question, HOW big is his contract?

And what exactly other than a rugged defensemen do the Buffalo want?

Any team could have had that for free over the summer: all they had to do was sign Shjon Podein.
