GDT: Canucks @ Flyers 7PM 11/13

(Too lazy to type so this is an excerpt from NHL.com)

GAME: Vancouver Canucks (10-4-2-0) at Philadelphia Flyers (8-2-3-1).

TIME: Thursday, 7 p.m. EST.
The Philadelphia Flyers look to win their fifth straight game and remain unbeaten at home as they host the Vancouver Canucks at the Wachovia Center.

The Flyers beat the New York Islanders 2-1 on Tuesday, improving their home record to 5-0-2. The Canucks are the only other team in the NHL without a loss at home (7-0-1).

Philadelphia's line of Mark Recchi, Jeremy Roenick and Tony Amonte continued to lead the way for the Flyers. Recchi scored the game-winner at 11:45 of the second period, Roenick had a goal and an assist, and Amonte had an assist, extending his scoring streak to an NHL-best nine games.

----------------------------------------

We need to frustrate this team badly, and put a lot of pressure on their D through the cycle and i think we'll come out succesful. I don't think the Nucks have enough matchups to counter our top 3 lines. I see the Handzus line being dominant tonight as I don't see who is going to keep them occupied. I figure the Primeau line will work against the Nucks top unit which leaves one of our 1st and 2nd lines being handled by the Sedins and King. There is no way a small group like that is gonna maintain us. I think they'll get burned all night.

Flyers 4
Canucks 1

Im expecting them to come out hitting tonite. i am expecting a very physical game. i do think matchups will favor us thou. there 3rd line has been good this year with the Sedin brothers and Jason King. So the formula will be as it is every game. score first get the crowd in the game.
Im looking for a big game from our 2nd and 3rd lines. Should be a great game
Flyers 4 (Amonte,Gagne,Leclair and Pitkanen)
Nucks 2 ( Naslund,King)
last goal will be a ENG (yes somehow we get a ENG) i think we are the worst team in the league at getting those

I'll be watching on the Center Ice tonight...I'll be curious to see which feed they use.

Should be a tough game for the Flyers. Vancouver's top line is clicking, so we'll have to see how Primeau's line does against them. It'll also be interesting to see how Vancouver tries to match up against the Flyers. Should be a good game, especially if the Flyers can get the early lead. They've been pretty dominant in the first period so far, and they'll need to keep that going tonight.

No predictions from me...I stopped doing that for games in general a few years ago when all I seemed to do was curse my team. So I'll just end with this:

LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!

here's my prediction post from yesterday on the Vancouver board....
http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.p...5&pagenumber=2

well, I'll chime in with my prediction for the score of the game....

Flyers 4 - Canucks 2

I think it will be a tight game and maybe come down to a 3rd period PP goal by the Flyers to put them up 3-2, then they will score an empty net goal to make it 4-2 Flyers.

I am looking forward to seeing the Nucks play, they have so many great players but I don't see them but once or twice a year. so hopefully it will be a good game.

anywho....

LET'S GO FLYERS!

The power wen tout at the Wachovia Center with 5 mins to go in the 2nd period. Flyers are up 2-1 on Handzus' goal and they will play a 25 minute 3rd period with Philly starting on a full 2 minute PP 4 on 3.
Flyers look good and so has Esche. Let's keep it going through the 3rd.

GO FLYERS!!!!

Flyers win Flyers win, almost blew it, but came out with the 2 points. Love seeing Desjardins put in that slapshot, it's been a while since we bared witness to it. We got the 2 points and are now 5 in a row.

Good job boys!

Heck of a game. Would have liked to see it end in regulation, but a win is a win. Good to see Gagne get the GW.

Awesome game. I have no voice from cheering so much. I was so pissed that bert scored that goal, thank God for Simon.

Flyers---Top team in the East

Also the team that beat the top team in the West

Great game. Probably the most exciting one yet. I hate the fact that the Canucks scored within the last 10 seconds, it seems so typical. Its great that we ended up with the win. Although I think the Flyers could have been a lot cleaner.

Its nice to see my two favorite teams play... not so often i see it.

For those of you that continue to slag gagne, the bandwagon will be around in about 15 minutes, think you can wait or will u already be wanting off it again before you get on?

If you notice something, it is that when Gagne is given good ice-time he plays well, and he sure got off a lot of shots tonight. Give him a chance. One bad year doesn't make u a finished player. He's on track for 50 some points and he started slow and with a minor injury. Just give him time and you'll see him come around. For Flyer's fans sake i hope a FEW of you don't run him outta town, cause you will regret it.

Don't like to see the team give up a lead late like that, but any win over the Canucks is a good win.

I thought the officiating tonight was especially poor.

Why can't Therien play like that everynite? Heck of a game, shutting down Todd B.
Hate to give up the lead with 7sec., but way to get the extra point in OT!
Guess we've been spoiled with great faceoffs the last decade, but they need to improve that area badly!

That Gagné goal was all Kapanen, not to take anything away from our # 12 but anyone could have scored that goal, i'll give him credit for positioning himself perfectly though, and a heads up play by Rags for finding him on a nice one touch pass. How good would we look at this point had we held on to that damn 2 goal lead against the Debs.!

I completely agree with that. My neighbors probably would agree to, since I think I was announcing to my entire neighborhood every time there was a poor call. Some of them were just beyond the normal "Oops, missed that one" kind into the "How does the guy getting held get the penalty for holding?" kind. Well, that and they were completely inconsistent with what would and wouldn't be called.

As disappointing as it was to see the Flyers lose the lead in the last 10 seconds, it was great to see them finish the game off. And over the Canucks, no less....good times. Great job by Esche in this game as well. He made some great saves. Hopefully, this means he gets the next start.

my cable was out all night :angryfire:

I'm just wondering, did they take an intermission, play 5 minutes, blow the whistle and have a face off to start the 3rd, or just roll with 25 minutes?

Play 5 minutes. Horn at the end of the 2nd. Change sides. Start the 3rd.

Tough to fault Primeau too much on that face-off.

He beat Linden 4 out of 5 draws. You're not going to win them all.

wind knocked out our power, and killed 2 of our TV's (not mine, because I have a surge protector strip and adapter). Comcast took until just this morning to get the cable back. We get sh***y service from them to begin with. Now we don't have 2 TV's to get any service from. Thanks PECO. Thanks Comcast. As if I wasn't already bored during the day when I'm not at work.

When you start with a moron like Rob "refs like" Shick and then throw in a rookie who's looking to get his face on TV, you get games like that.
