Meckler's going to play for the London Knights.

http://lfpress.ca/newsstand/News/Loc...8/1725110.html
Quote:
The Knights also introduced freshly-signed forward David Meckler, a 19-year-old from Highland Park, Il., and a Los Angeles Kings fifth-rounder this summer who left Yale University and an Ivy League education to play in London. He scored seven goals in 31 games as a freshman last season and popped the short-handed game-winner in the longest game in NCAA history — a five-overtime marathon — against Union College.

“Yale was a great experience and I learned a lot but I want to be a hockey player and I felt this would be the best place to pursue that,” the six-foot-one, 195-pounder said. “Hockey’s a small world and I heard a lot about London from other players. I’m excited to be playing here.”

Couldn't agree with him more. London is looking good... again.

Yeah. I think dating teamates is frowned upon. That would make for a pretty awkward locker room.

How could you cite that and leave out Selanne and Kariya?

Lombardi really seems to hate college and is putting alot of pressure on these kids to Major Junior, or thats a really huge coincidence that TWO draft picks from the last draft have jumped from College to MJ. Next up, Fast, Quick, Zatkoff, Baier all jump to the OHL.

Al Murray already said that they had nothing to do with Lewis not attending Michigan.

Plus, if you got drafted and thought you had a chance to make the NHL would you want to continue playing at Yale of all places?

I don't know if that is true, but I wouldn't blame him. The CHL, specifically the WHL, is a better development league. Even getting past that, the offseason training programs that the organization can conduct with their CHL prospects is much less restrictive than with their NCAA players (NCAA restrictions on practices and benefits and such).

Probably. Kings don't draft from the OHL much, anyway, let alone having a player in London.

Aulin played in Kamloops - WHL. Was a monster there. Still disappointed that he was a flop - tremendous skill - reminded me of Yzerman. Heard he was born with a silver spoon.

Baier is 21 and thus too old to play junior.

Aulin had skill but no heart. Lombardi would've ripped him a new *******.

And now Aulin finds himself without a team. He couldn't even crack a severley depleted Washington roster who gave a look to almost the entire Hershey roster. Aulin didn't even get a call up. Granted, he is injured more so than he's healthy.

I for one am glad DT dealt him at the right time. He had a knack for doing that.

Yep, he did that with Anshakov and Strbak. Probably saw that in Tambellini and Grebeshkov, but still doesn't excuse the return for those assets. Taylor always went against his word when adding these short term patches to heal gaping wounds.
