Waiver wires

Who's the best waiver wire pickup by the Habs? We seem to dip into the waiver wire market, but for some reason didn't want Wiemer at 1.6M. Out of Begin, Langdon, Bouillon, Dwyer, we have a few waiver pickups. Begin seems like a real keeper out of the group, but 2 time waiver pickup Bouillon has a lot of heart and scrappy play. Dwyer can't play hockey but can hit well. Langdon is the best fighter we've had in a while, but as a hockey player he's not very good from what I've seen. Still much better then Blouin (I can't believe Savard traded a 7th for this clown)

Add some players we got for free or next to nothing, and you have Juneau (gota love future considerations), Fichaud (was playing in Germany), Damphousse (was surprised we got him for free after being a 1st rounder in Ward's draft year), Dagenais, Dackell (an 8th rounder, good move to fill the gaps)

That's a lot of players in the organization that we've picked up for nothing or next to nothing. Smart moves by the GM or cheap bottom barell fishing? I'm impressed by Begin the most. Looks like a great pickup by Gainey.

Yes we have gotten a lot of players cheaply, but now, we want to be a contender. We should move basically all those players we picked up, mostly 3rd, 4th and depth guys out! If we want to be a true contender we need to build around the heavily talented guys....You know the ones you get young or for the big bucks. We need a skillful 1st and 2nd lines. That scores a lot...A solid 3rd line with guys who play well defensively and score often enough...Then another checking line that posseses all-round talent, with a future star in the training...A big, fast defensive line, revolving around Souray, Komisarek, Hainsey and Markov...A a #1 and an experienced #5 to that list, and its nice! Goalies around Garon and Theodore.....BOOM! we have a Bob Gainey contender in 3 years...Give him time, and he'll come through!

We got a lot of players cheapily, most teams are built through the draft, we need one of our top prospects to become a star and quickly!

haha I forget they were talking about waivers.. I was just looking the the hockey database and found out Matt Higgins is playing with the Iserlohn Roosters in the DEL. He shure has come a long way. From first round pick in 96 to Germany in 2003. That is a shame.
