Eklund?

Do any of you guys here buy into this guy? I personally think he is a fraud who just scours sites like this looking at hockey forums/news outlets and pulling rumors out of his ***. He's just too mysterious and not credible to me.

He is the owner of hockeybuzz.com and appears on XM all the time with hockey rumors claiming he has a bunch of inside sources on the inside but really he is just some internet nerd with no job who rarely predicts a rumor except the obvious ones like Weight returning to STL. I remember a day or two before Recchi returned to Pitts Eklund posted claiming there was absolutely no chance of him going back to Pittsburgh

Eklund is pretty much the equivelant of what you see on the Trade Rumors and Proposals board... although we usually break news faster.

You forgot that we're correct more often than he is too.

That's still nowhere near his Fleury + other stuff to the Blues for Lalime and change right before lalime was ****-canned by the blues.

i think hockeybuzz.com is a great site, it has alot of input from alot of people who are obviously connected. however, eklund is the weak link on that site...pretty much anything you read there is true UNLESS it's from eklund, and he's the creator....

Yeah, this is the latest crock of **** that's been passed around. The Detroit News had stated on Monday, July 10 that Ken Holland was in contact with Hasek and Belfour. Well, Eddie signs with the Panthers, which leaves...you guessed it. Not exactly the out-of-left-field prediction some have made it out to be. Give Eklund credit, though: he's like the John Edward of hockey news -- a sham who knows how to repackage information and make educated guessed in order to convice people to give him their money.

I might be able to tolerate him if he at least used his real name. For me, that's where his credibility takes a major hit. I mean, I realize he's working with rumours, but still...

I suggested Handzus for Calder like two years ago. Where's my website and hockey radio show? Maybe I should have called the trade proposal an m5 back in March 2004, and said "could be done as early as Summer 2006?"

I like how every player he brings up is bound to go to the Rangers, Maple Leafs, or the Red Wings. Wonder if he steals ideas from this board sometimes.

I used to follow his site at the start. Not anymore. Way too inaccurate. I don't mind reading the other media peoples blogs though.

This guy wouldn't piss me off so much if he didnt suck people into giving him money. And I actually believe that hfboards.com is one of his main sources.
