It looks like the stats are at least based largely on last year's stats. In some cases frighteningly close to last year's stats. Not that I'm much of a one for going out on a limb myself (I boldly predict the Habs will be somewhere from 4th to 12th), but there isn't a whole lot of limb-walking on those scoring predictions, is there?

So, with a 44-29-9 record (97 points), we finish 9th ??

And add to this number the points for OTL!!

Well, if we don't make the playoff with 97+ pts, i don't think that a lot a tems will

Tampa Bay 5th?? Come on , they have one of the weakest defensive unit in the league, Marc Denis is a good goaler but he still has everything to prove.

They loss

Darryl Sydor (Dman)
Frederick Modin (Forward)

They add

Marc Denis

So in comparaison with last year

Their defense is weaker
Their offensive is weaker
The goaltender should be a improvement

And this would give them the 5th spot instead of the 8th spot they had last year?

And for Atlanta ... do those guys has defenseman?

They loss Marc Savard (no 1 center)
They switch Stefan with Niko Kapanan
They have to hope that Lehtonen will stay healthy

And this will make them jump 2 spots in the east standing??

I wonder who is the guy who did that crap

I think they overrated Atlanta big time. I think the Rangers and Tampa are too high and we should make the playoffs.

how can buffalo finish 3rd in the east without winning the division title?

they really should think about those kind of things when releasing a magazine or something.

You are right, if Ottawa is first (first in east), Buffalo can't be third. (1st, 2nd and 3rd spot need to be the leader of each division).

How those guys can make a hockey website with such a little knowledge on hockey?

Thanks. You just made me thought about buying the forecaster magazine because I think THN magazine is pretty bad if it hasn't changed much from the past years.

is this from the THN Ultimate Fantasy Guide? I thought that wasn't out until late August. Normally the yearbook is out before.

They think Iginla's making a massive come back and Crosby's winning the Art Ross, you gotta stop believing them after that.

I just counted quickly. They give us 266 goals for compared to the 241 of last year. We should allow less goals without having to put up with Theo.

But I think the east will be verry interesting this year. Even tighter then last year if that's even possible.

I know that the standings r messed up with buffalo and ottawa both finishing in the top 3 but look at those teams. The east is tight. I mean i think anyone of those team can finish anywhere from 1st to 15th IMO Anyone can make the playoffs. This could be quite an interesting season

How is it messed up with both ottawa in buffalo in the top 3?

Anyway predicting standings is now a nearly impossible task. I'm pretty sure if you go read the predictions posted by the users of this board last year you'd have a nice laugh.

Unless the divisions have been realigned the top team in each division will be 1,2,3. No matter what the pts r. Buffalo and Ottawa r in the same division so its impossible. I remember when carolina made that run a cpl yrs ago they finished 3rd in the conferance but wre only ahead of us (Montreal) and we finished 8th. We beat the Bruins that yr 2.

it's not that impossible. 103 pts at his first season...recchi will be back. maybe malkin will be there (huge add on the PP). i wouldn't be surprise if crosby win the art ross. after having been that dominant last year at only 18 yo...
