You should check out the old U2. Thank god they were there in the late 80's early 90's.
Besides...is that a reason to "hate"?

Another good song that could pump the team and fans would be:
Metallica "Enter Sandman"
or
AC/DC "Thunderstruck"
Im not too familiar with AC/DC, but they do play a song that goes Thuuuuuuuunder when theres a PP. Sounds like it could be AC/DC.

Cold Play is probably the most boring band in rock and roll history...actually music has never been more boring than it is today...feels like I'm listening to kids on prozac...so depressing!

Too bad that's the pre-game show of the saddest Habs game of these last years.

I'm a big fan of U2. Their songs still send me tingles up my spine.

But Vertigo is totally played out. We all know what the solution to this problem is so i wont bother going into that.

Anyways, as for the coldplay enterance, it has grown on me quite a bit and I do actually like it.

If they were to change the enterance though, I would use the classic: "Children" by robert miles.. incase you dont know what I'm talking about... here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt6JN9QyBp4

It sounds to me that you hate the person more than anything else.

Different types of music appeal to different types of people. Its just that U2's appeals to a ton of people internationally and thats why they are still around. Not everybody is going to like the same bands or types of music.

Personally, I think they had more than one hit.

So let me get this straight...you hate him because he's a humanitarian? Because he's actualy doing something to help third world contries?

And that is a reason to hate a band? Because the arent as good anymore? btw some people will have a different view. They will say many good songs on the cd with one pop crap song

Martin: Oh, Bono is getting older and I want to take is place...I'm the next Bono, so the next eveything...

I should have said one pop hit per album...sorry

And it's not that I totaly hate U2...they have some great songs, but I just can't stand Bono. It's good to be a humanitarian, but when you are everywhere, it's just too much. For exemple, talking about how Canada is doing his things while you are a Europeens is just too much for me. Anyways, that's how I see it...it's my opinion on Bono...

Their albums are really concept albums. You have to take the whole thing together or else you don't really get the experience. That being said, everyone always picks their most radio friendly song to be the single.

QFT

It also could be that they've been consistently popular since 1988, while your favourite band hasn't been so popular.

Also I'd like to mention that this thread is quite ironic since U2's guitarist, The Edge, says that Montreal is always the most lively crowd, and its his favourite place to play. I'm pretty sure the people at the Bell Centre have also noticed that people get jacked up for U2 concerts the most, so thats why they play U2 songs.

I say that its bollocks to think that someone shouldn't use their celebrity for good. This is already a ****** world for a lot of people, we don't need to make it worse by shutting up one of the best humanitarians we have.

Nope, it's not that at all...actually, I don't want my favourite band to be too famous all around the world...

And using a celebrity for good is great...but sometimes, in Bono's case, it's too much...like I was saying with the Canada situation and call Paul Martin and blah blah blah...he wants to be the king of the world

No he's actulay getting goverments to commit to monetary aid. And by the way Bono was present at the liberal leadership convention when Paul Martin was elected to represent the Liberals.
Here is Bono's speech I suggest you read it. http://www.data.org/archives/CanadaSpeech.pdf
Here is a sample.
Quote:
Hello, Canada! Bon jour.
My name is Bono and I am a rock star
And this is a lot more rock and roll than I thought..
If you’re wondering what I’m doing here, that’s OK.
Because, so am I. There’s a lot of reasons why I shouldn’t
be here. There’s only a few reasons why I should.
Maybe I should start with why you shouldn’t have me
here.
Rock star with conscience – give me a break. That
would do it for me.
When I see a celebrity open their mouth and they’re not
singing I run.
And I am one.
What else, I’m Irish. That counts for a lot in this
country, but you know, I’m Irish…
Thirdly, I’m not a supporter of the Liberal Party. I’m not.
I’m not a supporter of any political party.
I like parties though.
No, I’m not here to run for anything. But I’m not here to
run away from anything either. I quite like being where I’m
not supposed to.
Quote:
Paul Martin thinks he likes me, but he doesn’t know
what he’s signed on for… More lobbying about debt,
begging letters about people who should never have to beg,
petitions about unfair trade, phone calls about money for the
Global Health Fund … I’ve already told him earlier today
that if Canada puts in its fair share, about three times the
current amount, they’ll embarrass the rest of the world into
doing the same. This is what we want out of Canada, come
on!
No no…NO ! I’m gonna be the biggest pain in his
arse— A year down the line, a year down the line - he’s
going to regret this night. I can imagine the staff meeting:
‘Whose idea was it to invite Bono?’
Anyway, so while he might come to regret it, I’m here
for Paul Martin. I’m honoured and I would like to thank him
for inviting me. That’s the first reason I’m here tonight.
The second reason I’m here is because I’m a fan of
Canada.
I met Canada through the holy voices of Leonard
Cohen, Neil Young, The Band, Danny Lanois. The
Canadian voice is hard wired in my heart.

I am a fan because a certain kind of idealism still seems
alive in this country. You’re not an insular place. You’ve
always looked outside yourself, beyond the line of the
horizon. You’re not so self-obsessed and this is coming
from a rock star, so believe me, I know self-obsessed. I see
it in the mirror.
I’m the fan who believes the advertising. Who believes
the hype and the slogans. I believe that the world needs
more Canadas. I actually believe that. More Canadas. More
Canadas.

I agree, it's awesome... when the 2 flag kids jump on the ice, with fix you and the crowd going crazy... man does it brings chill down my spine too ! I understand why and how our Habs are so meaningful here, it's OUR team, and I like how some of the players understand that. Koivu is an example, because he knows how important this team is for us, and that's why he plays his *** night in, night out...

And for the ones who hates U2 and Bono, and Martin and Coldplay... saying it's wimp rock and roll... just let me laugh at you, you're simply too prehistoric to understand or to feel what they really are saying.

Oh, and btw, I'm simply damn tired of listening to AC/DC and their crappy singer, and IMO Thunderstruck is washed up...

A goal song on Powerman 5000 or something like that, that would be crazy hockey

Yeah, I listened it last night, and I could understand why I liked AC/DC when I was younger and why this seems so old now..... The singer sounds like a teenager singing !
