Thomas Vokoun will win the Vezina this year. I just wanted to say that so when it happens everyone will know I predicted it. I would add to that he should have been in the top 3 in Vezina voting this year. He did not deserve to win it, but he was robbed of being a candidate. It was wrong that Lundquist, and possably Brodeur, where over him. Kiprusoff was a deserving winner, but Vokoun was wrongfully shunned of being a finalist, and I was annoyed by that.

You're wrong...

Luongo will win the Vezina just over Denis and Brodeur...

We all know that the best goalies are Quebec products...

Denis will have an awesome year and will be the reason why the Lighning will be in the playoffs this year.

The most overrated goalies are certainly Quebec products.

True...

But the two best goalies of the league are Quebec products... Brodeur and Luongo

The best all time goalie is a Quebec product... Roy

The greatest pimp goalie is a Quebec product... Théodore

Vive le Québec!!!

That is highly debatable especialy after Kiprusoff won the Vezina and Luongo was not even a top 4 candidate, and in fact was only once in his whole career until now a Vezina candidate. I dont neccessarily consider Brodeur the best, and I definitely do not consider Luongo one of the two best right now.

Again open for debate-Sawchuk and Hasek are two other examples of serious candidates not from Quebec.

That I agree on.

How about we at least get to training camp before we start arguing about this?

What's a Quebec product?

Sincerely,

David Poile

Well... Vokoun was "from" Montreal. Does that count?

I was, more or less, thinking of the Q when it comes to Quebec products. And Poile and the Q aren't on speaking terms. By my count, we've drafted 5 players from the Q in our existence. A little over 5% of our picks are from the QMJHL. What's even more interesting is that of those 5, only two were actually born in Quebec (Nick Fugere and Martin Beauchesne). The other three (Martin Bartek, Matthew Davis, and Richard Stehlik) were not born in Quebec. A little over 2% of our picks are for players born/raised in Quebec. Since 2000, the only French Canadian player to play more than 20 total games for the Preds is Yanic Perreault. Joel Bouchard (108 games played from 98-00) and J.J. Daigneault (35 games played in 1998) are the only other Predator regulars from Quebec.

I know. I was kidding mostly. Quebec. Montreal. Vokoun.

But Simon Gamache was born in Quebec and played in the QMJHL. Was he in your figures?

D'Oh! I forgot we didn't draft him. Sorry.
