It was. As are many articles are written that way . . . with unknown sources not making really any conclusions.

I always suspected that "insurance money" is a leading factor for how long players in high salaries stay out. If I recall it has to be over 30 days to kick in but when it kicks in the payoff is about 80%.

It's usually the easy way to get something right. IE, Bob Smizik knows nothing about hockey, but since 70% of everything that happens with the Penguins is negative, he's usually correct in his assumptions and prognostications.
