OT: Madden07

this is prob the biggest game of the year for boys as well as men... i noe there are a lot of NFL fans on this board and was just wondering how many actually go out and buy this game. I mean i do have 06 and im not too convinced on buying the new one since these games have basically been the same year in and year out.

Hockey > Football in both the real and digital world. I could care less about being able to control the lead blocker.

my roommate bought it. He's only played the Superstar mode so far though. Interesting approach...you only play as that player, no one else.

Played it today at Gamestop on 360. Impressive graphics, same ole Madden gameplay.

I'm sticking with NCAA Football 07 for Xbox, if/when I get a 360, I may choose to get madden for it instead of NCAA.

Pretty stoked for this. Gotta go get it soon. I love NCAA 2007 and have some great players to import from my Rutgers legacy

I have it for PS2.

I don't think I've ever played a better football game.

i stopped buying easports product after they forced their customers to buy new gamepads.

ive been a gamer til the 04 series of mvp baseball ,nhl 04 and madden 04...
i think it started with ea´s 05 series when they limited the use of "simple" gamepads and forced you to buy an analog gamepad.
thats when i pulled out of easports gaming.

i mean whats wrong with simple controlling? if a game needs more than 8 buttons it isnt fun anymore.

yeah this is pretty much how I feel. It's a pain in the *** to learn how to play sports games these days cuz there's way too many buttons and combinations that do this and that. and yeah, with the analog sticks it was annoying when I wanted to buy them for my computer (don't have any consoles except the good 'ol SNES).

However, I snagged a nice wireless controller based off the PS2 design with 2 analog sticks (mainly to be used for emulation) so I might give this years hockey games a shot

The game is alright I suppose, it is fun but there doesn't seem to be much improvement over 2005....I missed 2006 but much of the stuff appears the same to me, but it's still pretty fun.

As for controllers, I dont' have an analog controller (I despise analog) and it works pretty well for me.

I love sport games, but haven't played a football game in probably 3 years. I have a 360, and have barely played it, because I havent seen a game I wanted that bad(waiting for NHL 07). From what I have been reading it sounds like this years Madden is very similiar to that of the past. However, since I haven't played a football game in a few years, is this game worth the money?

I'm looking to get a football game, which one is good? I have PS2 & I used to like NFL 2k3, they have a 2k7 out? Is Madden the better game ?

blah, I'd rather play NFL 2k5 and update the rosters for this year. I just couldn't get into the PS2 Madden games. I loved Madden back in the Super Nintendo days, but I feel that Sega offered better gameplay in their NFL series that beat Madden's this generation. I've also read in reviews that other than a few new features, Madden is basically the same gameplay and same graphics for PS2.

Although I do like EA's hockey games better than Sega's. For those who are interested, EA NHL 07 comes out 9/12 and had the price lowered to $29.99 this year to compete with NHL 2k7 which will be $20.
