If you need to take a nap read on. Istvan is my middle name. It is Hungarian for Steve. I dropped my first name- Szabolcs- as a teen because people mispronounced it quite badly.

Sweet dreams.

Now when we're exposed to different names as the average social group is more ethnically divers, Szabs would be a cool name.

mine is pretty self explanatory.

Although it does have reference to one of my fav bands, Black label Society.

My usual nickname is always used & I didn't want to just add a random number after it. Guy Carbonneau is my all-time favourite Hab; most variations of his name have been used, so, I combined it with the number of my favourite prospect of the time, Komisarek. The N, of course, is short for and.

Sometimes, I can be almost clever purely by accident.

2 reasons :

1) The Habs franchise represent glory , success , greatness and dynasty. The Habs logo is a symbolic of all these things.

2) Symbolic is also the name of one of my favorite metal album.

Note that i'm going to change my username once every year in September (the month i registered).I have no idea what will be my next nick but i'm currently thinking about it.There are no real reasons behind the change other than i just like a change once in a while .

On December 4, 1909, J. Ambrose O'Brien founded the Canadian Athletic Club, which officially became the Club de Hockey Canadien (CHC) in 1917.

Joe Cole is the name of Henry Rollins best friend who died of cancer. The story that Rollins told about strength, honesty and diginity was moving. I figured it would be a tribute.

Plus at the time, I did not want to use my real name online, after being a victim of identity fraud.

P.S. check out Rollins spoken word stuff on YouTube!

Hmm, a fitting thread as I just changed my name from ACK! (which was a Bloom County/Bill the Cat reference).

My new name reflects my 2 fave sports teams - the Patriots and the Habs. Also, my name is Pat, so Pats Habs...

I like the sound of Teufelsdreck. I could have used Diogenes Teufelsdrockh (the name of a character in Sartor Resartus), but that's more difficult to pronounce.

Are you sure it's not a commentary about the quality of play of a certain former Expos middle infielder? 'Cause mcphee will be awfully disappointed...

Pre lockout - take on the Have's and the Have Not

Seemed we couldn't afford anyone in those days.

Not sure if you know this, but Alex Kovalevs lucky number is 7. I believe when he was picking a jersey number with the Rags, 7 was taken so he went for 27 (two sevens) thinking it the next best thing. Similar sort of thinking to you. Unless you already knew this story and put your own twist on it. Anyways, thought it might be of interest.

I always figured you might be a Chelsea or England fan in tribute to the midfield player Joe Cole. Guess not. Not heard the Rollins story before.

Took the name from a terrific Gary Burton CD that was playing when I created my first internet account. Kept it since.
